Amare better be happy with the nice chunk of change he is getting because the currently built NY Knicks are still a pathetic excuse for an NBA team. Raymond Felton to Amare , lets just say that won't be a famous call...

You really hate Amare for getting Suns into the WCFs this past season. Had he played like he did the first half of the season when recovering from the eye surjery, you might have not hated him as much, right?:bang:

What's wrong with what he said? The currently configured Knicks team is not very good. I am also not sure how Felton, who is more of a Barbosa finisher than a Steve Nash disher, is going to run the pick and roll with Amar'e. I have a lot of questions about the Knicks, even if they get Carmello Anthony next season. Just have to wait and see what D'Antoni is planning.

The Knicks are putting together a nice team imo.

Felton
Azuibuke
Galinari, Chandler
Randolph,
Stoudemire, Turiaf

With a little more depth they could make the playoffs. I sure wish the Suns could have pulled off the same deal for Stoudemire that the Knicks pulled off for Lee.

Whoa. What a nice turnaround for NYK. We shall see how it all comes together, but it looks like Nelly-ball right now. They should be a fun team to watch and they'll rack some wins up in the regular season, but that's certainly not a team built for a ring....

You guys are probably right about the retooled Knicks but I'd swap rosters with New York in a heartbeat, especially if it included an owner swap. They'll win 43 games and contend for a playoff spot and we'll win 35 games and finish next to last in our conference.

And we own our own lottery pick. I'll take that over another mediocre also-ran roster....

Oh yeah??? Well, wake me when Sarver trades Richardson and tosses in a couple of 1st round picks to sweeten the deal. And while that's very unlikely, if someone had told me the particulars of the Thomas to Seattle deal I would have wagered my house against that one also.

I'm not in love with the Knicks roster but it's going to be a lot easier for them to turn it into something of value than what we're looking at. We have a weak starting lineup and an even weaker owner. Our best asset is an injury plagued 60 year old point guard who didn't play defense when he was in his prime.

No way the Suns slip that much. As long as there are no major injuries the Suns will finish at least above .500. It is possible the Suns will win about 48 games and miss the playoffs.

41 wins is .500 ball. That's sounds about right if we avoid a significant injury. I think our odds of avoiding a serious injury are 3 to 1 against us. I'll be shocked if both Lopez and Nash play a complete (or near complete) season for us.

That's a different reality than what we are confronted with at this moment. If that happens, I will be livid as well....

Wow, your hate for Sarver really has clouded your judgement. That Knick team is nowhere near as good as the Suns. They will fight for a playoff spot in the east only because the last 7-12 teams are all equally bad. Toronto didn't make it last year with a much better roster.

I think their roster is a little bit better than ours and they will benefit from playing in the east. Also, their young pieces have more promise than ours do and that will provide a better nucleus to build around than we have. And that's before we actually get to Sarver.

Is there ANY way to get Nash into a KNICKS uniform for a future 1st and maybe an additional 2nd?

I figure the closer DA gets to fielding his kind of team the more likely that they'll be willing to part with their draft picks.:D

If we can keep Robert Stupid from doing anything sarver we might have a chance. If he signs anymore band-aids (Frye, Warrick) I figure we're stuck with Nash for another decade or so.

(sigh)
That wouldn't be such a bad thing if he wasn't still "the core" or "the face" of the franchise thru it all. It's really quite pitiful.

I'd like to have Nash play here as long as he wants as long as we didn't continue to shape and reshape the offense, bring in new talent, keep the existing talent based on our 37 yr old PG because he's a nice guy,a fan favorite, former 2-time MVP and future HOF'r.

I'm beginning to wonder if Steve's lack of ego and unselfishness on the court manifest's itself off the court instead.....thats probably a ridiculous statement but as a fan of the SUNS i dont care about Nash having fun. I care about the SUNS.

Obviously, I agree. I really like Nash and in a hundred years I'll look back on him as perhaps the greatest guard to ever play in a Suns uni. That said, I'd like to see us move him before he goes from being the face of the franchise to being the butt of the joke.

Let's see.
- Knicks have been peppin up Lee's stats all year long by playing him in thea huge amount of garbage time, in hope for good return on a s&t. Success!
- Suns have been trying to trade Amare 3 years and signaling his health would be huge problem, in attempt to deter potential suitors for him in FA. Failure!
:bang::bang::bang:

That's what Jagu has been longing for the whole season long while bashing Amare. :D

Crimmie....whole lotta 'sky-is-falling' on this board that sounds just like last summer.

And shock of shocks, we had a hella-fun team that got to the WCF and lost to the eventual champs.

Yes, Amare had a big role in that, but it's not like he played by himself.

I do not expect the Suns to win a title with this roster...frankly...anyone outside of LA, SA, Boston and Miami are going to have a darn hard time at it the next 5 years.

But it doesn't mean the Suns will not be competitive and not be a playoff team that plays compelling ball.

When/if we finally have the kind of terrible season you are all dreaming of...great. Until then, while I'm not all jazzed about this offseason, I'll wait until the season is underway to freak out.

Oh, and what's with the hate on Nash? What has the guy done wrong for this team...ever? Could he use a better supporting cast? Sure, if possible. Has he filled the role of the Suns required superstar well and to the fullest? Umm - yeah. Has his play fallen off in some dramatic way (baring the Porter experiment)? Umm - no.

Well, I can't speak for the others that are disappointed with our immediate future but I feel much different this year than last. I expected us to compete for the playoffs and with a little bit of luck felt we could win a round. We had a lot of luck and won two rounds but I'd not undervalue Amare's role in that run. For half a season he was arguably one of the 3 or 4 best in the game and that's a huge loss.

Other than one poster, who's hating on Nash? I think he played very well for us in 50 + games. I think he played subpar in the rest and in several of them he was a huge liability. He was hampered by a back problem, a stomach tear and a hip problem and each injury took a toll on the guy. Maybe he plays at the same level next year, in which case we could even compete for a playoff spot. However, it's not a stretch to anticipate that his increased injury problems indicate a trend that's only going to worsen.

Ugh, I was hoping we could steal Randolph. We need to do a JJ deal to go with our youngsters.
