All HCs are hired to be fired! Coaches lose it at some point & run their course...Landry, Wiz, Coryell, etc.

It's time Jim! This team is regressing in all phases due to coaching & age! A new QB is coming. There's not a better time to blow it up including the coaching staff! The Cards are a dumpster fire

1) David Shaw
2) Todd Haley
3) Doug Peterson
4) the Texan DC
5) Lincoln Riley (if we get Mayfield) lol
6) Darrell Bevell

Never thought I would say this but if we draft our QB of the future, I think Haley would be the perfect choice

I hate to say it, because BA's first couple years in Arizona certainly were high times but, I feel like he is coaching to get fired!

Why retire; i.e. - quit; when you can get fired and collect your contract?

We can only hope that M. Bidwill obliges his wish.

I agree that coaches run their course. But Arians is still a good coach. Every coach has a down cycle in their career, even the great ones. Today's world is the first time things go bad it's "fire the coach". Hell, some people want Urban Meyer canned here in Columbus.

He does need to agree to changes on his staff though and bringing in guys with new ideas is always a good thing. BA has to be willing to be open minded. I blame a lot of this year on the injuries but if they bring back the exact same staff next year would be a mistake.

I like your list for the most part. One name I would add is Pat Shurmur and one I would remove is Texan DC, Mike Vrabel. I mentioned in another thread that I don't get the Vrabel love. The Texans have one of the worst defenses in the league. I think they are last, or close to it, in scoring defense.

There have been many threads here on firing Amos Jones. But we all know that he is a personal friend of BA and BA does not hold his coaches accountable.

No way Arians fires Jones. They go way back to Arains being a coach for Bear Bryant at Alabama circa 1982 and Jones being a player. Then Arians goes to Temple and hires Jones. They have been attached at the hip ever since. Thunder buddies.

The Cardinals had a shot at winning this game and yet again our Not So Special teams did us in.

Yet another kick off taken out of the end zone and only they only reached the 18 yard line.

A 70 yard punt by the Rams swaps field position only to be followed up with the Cardinals punting the ball 40 yards and having it returned another 30. That was a 60 yard swap in field position after the Cardinals had pinned the Rams deep in their own territory a few plays earlier!

A blocked PAT.

A blocked Field Goal that would have pulled the team with 6 points.

:bang:

Stop the madness!!! It doesn't seem to matter who they throw on special teams. There is one constant. Amos Jones!

Kiem sounds a bit fed up this morning with special teams. I think The Turk will come calling soon and Amos will be turning in his playbook?

BA doesn't have to fire him. His contract is up this year. Cards shouldn't renew his contract. Michael and Keim should take action.

My guess is that Keim will finish out the season with Jones to appease BA and his blind loyalty to Amos.

However Amos won't be invited back after the season is over.

Amos Jones should have been fired a couple years ago and everybody knows it but Steve Keim and BA.

StreetTruckinTitan, where did you read/see that Keim is fed up with the special teams? I would like to read/see it. Do you have a link?

SK not happy: https://www.azcentral.com/story/spo...nals-steve-keim-injury-excuse-rams/919008001/

On Sunday, the Rams blocked an extra point and a field goal and had a 30-yard punt return. The Cardinals are playing poorly on special teams for a third consecutive year, and Keim was asked for his opinion on the job being done by special teams coordinator Amos Jones.

“I’m never going to go on record and publicly bash any of our players individually or one of our coaches,” he said. “The bottom line is, and it’s no excuse, our special teams, it’s been unacceptable. That’s something that needs to improve. I’ll just leave it at that.”

He was on his weekly radio show on Doug & Wolf. The link should be up soon.

Even with our defense bleeding points and our offense being so inconsistent, with solid ST play we might still be in the playoff hunt. Really sad to see BASK let Amos continue this s*** show for several years...

This season there have already been 2 ST coaches fired for much less. It isn't even about Amos anymore, but establishing the right mentality on special teams!

I heard a radio clip of BA saying (paraphrasing here) that he watches Amos coaching up the guys, but they continue to do it wrong on game day. He'd like to get new players, but that's all they have right now.

Was that a dig at keim? that he didn't sign enough good ST players?

Also, I was under the impression that asst. coaches and staff are handled by the head coach, not the GM.

I've heard this as well and it always irks me.

Surely your effectiveness to coach is determined by your ability to impart knowledge to develop players?

Either it's *all* the players who are wrong, or it's the coach. What's more likely?

Not everything is to blame on Amos. Make no mistake, I hate him. His units have cost us multiple games in recent years. But on ST it's often about the want-to. I seriously question if Keim has put enough work on improving our ST while trying to fill the holes on our roster with players that won't put everything on the line on ST. Amos has to go, but new ST coach better help Keim finding players that will improve our ST!

Or maybe Jones/Arians is very poor in either communicating what they want, or poor in judging talent themselves, or placing them in bad spots.

The ST have talent, but when players (multiple, over years) fail to execute, then that is on coaching.
