Yep. Koetter should resign/be fired immediately following this scrimmage.

As a token gesture, Lisa Love should bring in Frank Kush for the rest of the year.

So, who would be candidates for Lisa Love?

- Dave McGinness?
- Danny White?
- Chris Ault?
- Pat Hill? Best candidate in my mind.
- Bob Davies?
- Butch Davis?

One thing is VERY clear. This program needs an enforcer. Someone who'll come in and demand respect.

It's pretty tiring seeing this defense just lay down like schoolgirls.

I am a Rattlers fan so I love Danny White. I think he's a very good coach. The only thing that holds him back is lack of college experience so recruiting would be kind of new for him, but I'd still want him to come. I don't see any of those guys being great coaches but it's time for a change. This game today was very embarrassing.

See, that's what I thought he lost when he let the players buffalo him into picking Carpenter over Keller. Once that situation was created, he had to stick to his guns and make a change on his terms, if at all. Even if it meant Carpenter walking out on the program. Deep down, this team doubts his judgment and authority. He's pretty much screwed.

The Valley so low.
Not that I can generalize to NAU, the community colleges, etc., but is this the worst state for football in the USA? They have it down to a science: look really promising, then kick your teeth in.

Exactly. The lack of homegrown talent is what will always hold back the two Arizona schools. UofA has overcome that in basketball, but you need to land far fewer elite players in that sport.
Lute came in though during a period when UCLA was down (for their standards) and there was no other truly dominant program out West. The 1990s presented a similar opportunity for ASU and Arizona in football although neither school capitalized on the power vacuum left by a struggling USC and a probationary Washington. Oregon instead put themselves there, USC came back to their status quo, Arizona/ASU kept turning out mediocre or worse coaches as currently seen by the clowns running the programs and the rest is history.

Effin' Dirk has to be fired this offseason. His counterpart in Tucson is doing the 'unthinkable', and DIRK is doing nothing. REGARDLESS of the Saturday outcome vs. the Cats.

And you know what really sucks about that loss? There were a bunch of good prospects that ASU was trying to get who visited and had to see this game. And we also had a nice group for the Oregon game I heard. Recruiting isn't going to be too good this year.

Unfortunately, I am going to be at the game this Saturday as the Wildcats run up the score on Koetter's Devils. I say 'Koetter's Devils' because he has sucked the life out of this crew. This bum has to be fired.

On a related note, ASU called me a few weeks ago, just after our Oregon St. loss. I told the guy I wouldn't give another dime until they fired that joke Football coach that is making us a national and STATE laughing stock.

I'm struggling with this UofA game, it always sucks to lose to UofA, but maybe, just MAYBE it would be worth it this year, if it meant Koetter getting the boot. I'm still not sure.

Coming from a HUGE UA fan here... We have the momentum for sure going into this game but with rivalry games, especially OUR rivalry games, it's just too hard to guess at who the winner will be. That said... Will a win in Tucson save Dirk's job?

As much as I'd like for State to keep him :)D ), win or lose, he's gotta go. Love has to bite the bullet, admit she F'd up, and ship this guy back to Boise.

I always hate to lose to UA, but a perfect scenario is a "W" at UA and Firing of DK right afterwards.

But if it takes a big UA loss to get rid of DK,im ok with it, but im moving to india until Nov 25, 2007

Pretty convenient how the ASU faithful are making this weekend into a win-win.

And how are we wrong?

We really don't care anymore about some sh!tty bowl game...this game means everything to UofA, with a loss, they probably don't get a bowl game, a win and they are in.

To us, all we have to look forward to is Koetter getting fired, a win is always nice against the kittens, but just doesn't mean much to us anymore.

About this or the entire college football season in general? Because that would take awhile.

Funny how the Insight Bowl meant so much last year to Koetter and ASU fans.

I'm not really looking forward to any marginal bowls, the goal at Arizona still and always will remain to compete for championships but I also was willing to give Stoops five years to accomplish such a goal. Three years was my breaking point for mediocrity and Stoops has achieved that which has pulled me off the 'fire Stoops' bandwagon.

Hmmm, you honestly think UofA is anything better than mediocre this year?
No, I think they are mediocre which is all I demanded in the third year of a major rebuilding effort just as I did for the 2006 Cardinals. You wouldn't be pleased with the progress of Sendek and the ASU Basketball team if they earned a #10-12 seed in the 2009 NCAA Men's BBall Tournament?

Gotta love how a fan of a team who hasn't been to a "big" bowl game since '96 acts like they are a contending for a national championship every year and that they can look down upon any bowl. You guys should hope you make a bowl this year even if it isn't a good one because it may be the last bowl you get to for awhile. When ASU is considered a big time contender for years in a row then feel free to let me know.

When UofA is considered anything other than the bottom of the Pac 10 let me know. ASU has plenty of talent, we just need a coach.
