Perfect example is when they tried to pull linemen. They didn’t disguise it and left too big a hole you defenders just ran through the hole and blew up plays. That’s why Connor’s average was bad.

Maybe so but I thought the offensive line played much better today compared to last Sunday.

Pass protection was much better and there were at least a few holes for Conner to run through.

Terribly bitter loss today Harry. We had it right there to take...

But both the offense and the defense were exposed in Q4.

K1 had to go to the WR to ask them what they want to run. Petzing is a clown and K1 shouldn't have to do all this for competent coaches.

If you think Petzing's offense fits K1's strengths I have ocean front property to sell you in San Tan.
Petzing's offense covers Kyler's weaknesses quite a bit.

Imagine doing this with Travis Kelce

I wish I hadn't looked at that because now I have another thing to be mad about. How is that not a penalty on 91, he didn't grab but he definitely makes contact with the helmet and and head of Kyler before Kyler takes off to run? I was watching on my laptop from a distance so I didn't see that in real time.

I'm actually wondering if that's why Kyler didn't take off out of bounds maybe he was expecting a flag? Dumb play not to get out of bounds but that's supposed to be a penalty for contact to the head

Said it was a face mask during the game.

The refs are always terrible and we won’t get calls till we prove we can win consistently.

In retrospect, seeing it from the endzone I now wonder if that’s design for a delayed QB scramble. All of the routes are right to left. Those two guys staying home in the flat keeps defenders to that side. Unfortunately the spies sniffed it out quickly and kyler makes the unbelievably boneheaded decision to throw a worthless hesi and get tackled inbounds.

I will never understand why people bring up vastly superior QBs when excusing why Kyler Murray isn’t amongst them.

Great QBs are great regardless of who their OC is. That’s what makes them great.
Or they go together

I don’t think Mahomes would be nearly as good as a quarterback as he is without Reid there at the beginning

Just one of many pro-Viking calls or non-calls yesterday

Isn't this what a leader should do? Communicate with the team you work with and see what you can do to help make them more productive?

From my knowledge, and it is limited to a few individuals, most HC, OC, vet QB game planning looks like this. QB gets the cut ups for the upcoming opponents defense. Those also go to the HC and the OC. The HC and OC meet with the QB and go over what the QB likes and how he wants to attack it. The HC and OC add input and then they start building the install plan for the week. Basically, this is where Kyler would say, "hey Drew, I spoke with the WRs and they said they want to run more of "x" types of routes". Then Drew responds, sure, I think we can fit that in".

Let’s pretend this is how it goes. It doesn’t but let’s pretend it does.

MHJ had 1 endzone target yesterday. Wasn’t targeted until well into the first quarter. Still isn’t on the same page as his QB (back shoulder throws). Yet you think the OC listened to K1 when he told him what the WRs like and all these issues still remain.

Petzing for sure should be fired then.

You can’t design the offense around keeping a rookie WR and a couple
Other mid guys happy.

It’s much worse that we still cant Get the ball to McBride in the end zone.

I can say that folks aren’t sniping at each other in the media; this team has message discipline.

Your unfounded confidence is impressive in its arrogance.

Btw. I believe Harrison had two endzone targets. He caught one and the other was an overthrown deep ball where we actually did take a shot at the endzone.

our short field menu has been beyond abysmal as of late - and it's definitely partially playcall - weirdest part about it - we don't take deep shots any damn way so why does ish change in the redzone? why do we mostly run plays without any options in the redzone? why isn't getting the next first down still the top priority? and ultimately - why is settling for field goals acceptable for petzing?

i ask this for the obvious reasons - you need first downs to keep any drive alive - and the consistent watered down garbage we see once we pass the 20 yard line isn't getting first downs or touch downs - we could've won our last 6 games if we'd just scored one td instead of all these freakin field goals - the last field goal didn't even matter - most useless 3 points we ever scored

Fans mentioned about bringing the fired Bears coach as a defense advisor. Why not bring in an offensive coach to teach Drew

Short memories people on this board have. After the Kingsbury years, the opinion was that Kyler needed a structured system that did not depend on him playing "hero ball" on every possession based upon a passing game. When Sean Payton was interviewed, it was stated that he would bring a balanced offense that was not beyond Kyler's capabilities.

Now we have a successful coach with a balanced offense and a physical run game and physical overall team that does not depend on Kyler's passing, which was a failure in the previous offense. Petzing is looked at nationally as a creative run balanced coach, and some people here want to go back to the "hero ball" that did not work with Kyler.

Two weeks ago everything was brilliant. Lose two games and now he needs to be fired and get somebody to "teach" him how to coach.

Win Sunday and all of the sudden he's a lot better coach. Stay the course. Win 3 in a row, then it will be "OMG, what if we lose him?" Takes all over the place.
