So many losses to teams below .500 Porter should be fired and be replaced with a coach that fits this team because its very obvious that he cannot lead this team to a winning season or to the playoffs. POrter should be on the next firing squad!!!

P.S. KERR destroyed this team!!!

Can we bring in Iavaroni as our interim coach? I doubt Boston would give us permission to speak to Thibadueu. But that would be my first choice.

Judging solely on credentials....we may as well be hiring another Porter if Iavaroni were to be brought in.
As far as an interim basis?....sure, why not i suppose.

Porter does not blend in with this team, thats obvious. Something has to be done. I can't watch anymore of this crap this season. Plus for the love of god fire Steve Kerr.

So where is the mob so I can join ?? I have my torches and pitchforks ready.

granted we have more problems than Porter, but I'm 100% sure If dantoni was around, we wouldn't get spanked by the bobcats.

Get avery johnson or something :)

Make Gentry the interim HC and return to last year's style until the team can be reshaped.
Not bad but the problem is that in order to reshape this team you've got to committ to doing so....like tomorrow.
That means shipping out Nash,Amare, maybe even Shaq now(not next summer)in order to get max value in return.

Sarver and/or Kerr better do something quick because this team has quit.

Totally ironic that Shaq seems to be the only guy giving a descent effort.

That's why I chose Gentry as an interim HC. He knows the team well enough to take over. He has served under both DA and Porter so he knows the makings of this team. Maybe the Suns should have a one-on-one meeting with the key players and find out who wants out.

That's not fair for Terry Porter.

Please. Who cares about "fair"?

Firing Terry Porter is a good start to the remaking of the team. Sure, we'd all love to trade Amare now, but you have to be sure you get something in return. Fickle Suns fans either a) want to get the world in return, or b) start talking about giving players away, and neither of those happen. And then, the ones that claim they are more level-headed come up with huge trades that are like 5 players for 6 players--which ALSO never happens. Realism hardly exists in any fan-suggested trades.

Right now, in order to change at least SOMETHING, firing Porter isn't just a good decision, it's also the most financially viable because none of the fan base has any real emotional connection to him. Not like Amare, Shaq or Nash.

Firing him could backfire, but we just lost by 20 to the Charlotte Bobcats. I don't know if it can get much worse.

Yup, I don't think it can get worse...Like i said, it may not be terry's fault, but suns have never lost to the bobcats before, and to lose by getting blown out, I'm almost certain that it would never happen under dantoni. Under him Suns may lose against spurs by 2, but definitely not 20 to bobcats. (could have been more)

Something need to change because they are definitely not responding to coach porter.

You have a split team. You have the guys who want the up tempo and DA style and you have the other that is old school inside out half court. It was doomed to fail when you brought Shaq in. Now that Shaq found his fountain of youth it made the situation only worse. Porter made the choice (right or wrong) to go the Shaq way and Nash and Amare are not geared to play that style and are unhappy about it. How is that Porters fault? No more so than if he played the up tempo and Shaq whined like he has on previous teams. It's a no win situation just as it will be for any new coach. Whatever the choices the management and coach make, it's on the players to buy in and give it their all. That is what a professional does. Blame the coach all you want, but he can olny lay down the foundation. If the players refuse to buy in or give the effort, it clearly lies on their shoulders.

In addition, Porter will probably land on his feet. He has some potential as a good coach, but needs to be with a young team and grow with them for awhile. He just garnered zero respect from these vets from camp onward. He was double-screwed by the fact they all liked playing for Mike D (most of the time - especially after the sting of the Spurs losses wore off over the summer).

For those feeling bad for Porter, remember, lots of coaches have been fired and gone on to good or sometimes great things. He'll get another shot. The NBA coaching carousel does not have that many passengers, and many are getting long in the tooth.
