Firing someone for lodging a Union grievance is a federal offense.

Triple damages and back pay are usually awarded. Cards management may be in for a surprise if Kendall has a good lawyer.

No way. Far to hard to prove that his dismissal was retribution. It would be different if he were in his prime, but he's not. Players get fired all the time in the NFL 'cause their old and make too much money. I the "real world" that's illegal, too, but not in the make-believe world of the NFL.

That depends on the judge I guess. Let's just say that the judge would have to be willing to accept it as quite a big "coincidence" that Kendall gets cut after filing a complaint. You don't have to catch someone red-handed and on video saying "Let's cut kendall because he filed a complaint" to end up in trouble.

According to his agent in the paper this morning, he stayed clear of it because he did not want to get on the coaches bad side. With that statement, they have no case.

How about the players who co-signed the complaint and were not cut? No judge would ignore that mitigating fact....

Bull****

Nobody would fire a player who was apparently 'the best center in the NFL' last year for this.

Obviously he wasn't

...or how about the fact that the Cards drafted 2 centers months before the complaints?

You also have to prove that Green knew at the time of the firing that Kendall was one of the players that filed a complaint. It's not enough to just say "Well I filed a complaint and now I am jobless". Your employer has to know you filed the complaint in order for the "He fired for filing a complaint" argument to hold up.

I understand that in all likelihood Green knew Kendall was one of those that filed a complaint, but you still have to prove he knew this at the time of firing. My guess is that the front office gave Green this information at that same source isn't going to come out and say "I told Green before he released Kendall that he was one of the ones who complained".

But hey, this is the land of crazy lawsuits prevailing, so anything is possible I guess.
