The only changes I'd anticipate by sometime in the first Q of the season is Floyd to move into the WR2 slot and Massie to maybe crack the lineup, too.

Fingers crossed, at least.

This is not going to happen during the first half of the season, and maybe not at all this year. Urban said as much in an article or something in the last couple of weeks.

This staff really, really likes Andre Roberts, and while Roberts likely will move into the slot in 3WR sets (as Breaston often did), I don't expect him to lose his starting job unless the season goes significantly sideways.

EDIT: I read a similar tweet about Massie. Difficult to learn anything about him during training camp, but these guys' heads are swimming.

As noted, do not anticipate or hope anything, what urban said is set and stone and k9 has proof nothing will change based on todays opinions.

Certainly. Still, I'm hopeful it will happen earlier rather than later in the season. I'm not laying down money on it or anything, I just think those are the guys that will climb up the depth chart.

Meh. I'm not sure that Massie is any better than Brandon Keith, and I like Jeremy Bridges. I don't think it's going to matter on Floyd until the QB situation improves, although I'm a huge Early Doucet fan, so I'd kind of prefer that Floyd stay on the bench for a little while.

Me too. I wonder if Floyd will have ANY impact on his PT, though. Doucet seems to be most effective in the slot as the #3. I could see him hanging on to that role...but, as you said, the coaching staff seems to really like Roberts, so who knows.

I like it. Our offense is questionable, but the defense looks vicious. I read that Lenon has really impressed this off-season. A-Dub and Rhodes back at 100%. Dan Williams coming back in his best shape. I can't wait to see what these guys can do. The main position that I could see changing is CB before game 1

I think that as the season goes on, if Floyd transitions the way I hope he will, that we'll see less and less of Doucet. I think that they play similar roles--intermediate third-down chain-movers. I like having Doucet and Roberts inside in four-WR sets--I think that's deadly. Floyd should have no problem taking Stephen Williams' job (and roster spot).

Will Floyd impact Roberts' PT? Probably not this season. I really hope that we end up running a lot of 2TE 2WR sets with Fitz on the edge and Roberts in the slot. I think that gives us a chance to really maximize both of their skill sets.

I can tell you Byrd played about the same amount as Stephen Williams. I think that is the battle for the sixth wideout spot.

You're assuming DeMarco Sampson is the 5th?

Don't count out Isaiah Williams. After all he came to the Cards from Pittsburgh.

And what about the local boy Gino Crump? With a name like that and having played in Glendale already he could have a shot.

Even this Wildcat will tell you Crump has a snowball's chance in Hell of making the team.

Crump is a good receiver, but much of his success in college can be attributed to Nick Foles' uncanny accuracy and the short routes that were run at UofA.

It's doubtful it will translate to any NFL success, IMO

I had a friend ask me what I thought of Williams as a fantasy pick, I don't play fantasy football but I did tell him if Williams drops, good pick.

Unless Floyd shows nothing in training camp, he is going to be used quite a bit. Roberts did nothing to take pressure and double coverage off Fitz. If and when he may crack the starting line up, I'm not sure but there is a good chance he may by mid season if not before.

Well, Floyd, or any rookie for that matter, is not going to take double coverage away from Fitz either. Unless the Cards acquire Calvin or Andre Johnson, Fitz is going to see double coverage.

I doubt Floyd has the impact/season that Julio Jones did in Atlanta last year. I think he'll be a nice piece to the puzzle but don't see him being a dominant force, which is okay. About 50 catches for 700-800 yards and 3-6 TD's would be a very good year.
