Per Sando Levi Brown punched Dockett after Dockett threw Faneca into Lienart. Said it turned into a big brawl.........glad they are bringing it out there!

A good sign from both ends. I like to see Levi Brown bring a bit more physicality to the football field. I am not looking for him to punch guys, but more applied aggressiveness is very good.

As for Dockett, I like that he is throwing linemen around, but I would prefer him to not do it at our starting QB.

Sorry, but I can't help but wonder if these "fights" were a little staged or at least planned a little in advanced.

Yesterday just happened to be the day when Mort and the ESPN training camp bus tour rolled into Flagstaff to profile the Cards. Sando was also there to write about the team for his section on the ESPN website.

Just seems like the perfect time to give the national guys a show to generate extra headlines, show how tough of a team we're gonna be, and showcase the intensity of the defense. Another benefit is diverting a little attention away from the "Can Matt Leinart lead the Cardinals" storyline that was probably at the top of the agenda for most of the national media covering the team.

Maybe Hard Knocks needs to cover the Cardinals one year. All hell would probably break loose then.

hmmmm ... someone wrote that Coach Grimm and Dockett were in a deep conversation yesterday morning for about 15 minutes and then shook hands.

Then, Dockett blows up the o-line and gets them riled up.

Those fights were not stage at all. They were heat of the moment ordeals. You dont sweep your QB's leg and knock him to the ground for headlines. Had to be there. It was an intense practice.

Nope. Been at many practices when the national media was there. Never seen anything like yesterday. There was just a buzz you cant really explain. You had to experience it.

The local media has been talking up fights in the SF camp too, all the talk about the "nutcracker" drill again which Singletary has modified this year to try and reduce injury. He loves the fighting and his players know it, they see it as their chance to prove their toughness.

Every now and then a camp fight can go too far but in general it's just a sign of a bunch of guys getting tired of beating on each other and taking out some aggression, usually a positive sign for a team when someone stands up for the QB like that.

I'm not surprised Dockett was the guy knocking down Matt, that's just his nature he's a phenomenal player he just has never had an "editor" if you will that gets him to think before he acts. That's why he gets so many personal foul penalties in games, but it's probably also why he's so good.

Never been a huge fan of camp fights, but damn if DD doesn't make me see it a different way.
