Could not believe they drafted Reddick over Ruben Foster. Keim has his head up his arse when it comes to drafting in the 1st round. Reddick wasn't even slotted at a position when coming out of college...he was a 'tweener.
We needed a CB or a LB....and Red isn't either. They shot for Buccannon 2.0 and missed the entire barn.

Ditto. I was praying for Foster even if 13 was a reach but Foster is a beast. Same with the previous year taking Humphries over Shaq Thompson. Thompson's numbers might not be that great but he's pretty disruptive. Imagine having both Thompson and Foster in our LB corp for years to come. And not for nothing but I think the Browns did well taking Myles Garrett. I think the kid's going to be a beast in a couple of years.

Malik Hooker
Jonathan Allen
Reuben Foster

All sitting there when the pick came up.

Not even going to talk about how many good cornerbacks this team passed on, that ended up playing and starting by year's end for their respective teams.

30 teams passed on Foster because of injury concerns. He missed 6 games for the 49ers and they are wondering how to keep him healthy. Has a history of concussions and shoulder problems---not good for an ILB. No one doubts that Foster is a baller.

As for Reddick, once he settles into a niche in this defense, he will excel. He had too much thrown at him too soon. He's a player who thrives on instinct---and once he masters his assignments so he doesn't have to think about them, he should blossom.

Shaq Thompson is average at best. Which is surprising because I thought he would be a lot better by now. I wanted an ILB, but Eric Kendricks was my choice & he has been thriving in Minnesota ever since he got there.

Allen & Foster both had injury concerns coming out, & guess what happened? Once got put on IR early & the other has been battling injuries all season. Hooker is understandable because he didn’t have any injury concerns even though he unfortunately tore his ACL during the season.

Actually, injury concerns (2 off-season surgeries---midsection and hip) knocked Hooker down the draft (could not participate at the Combine or in pre-draft workouts) when early on it appeared he was easily going to be a top 10 pick because he has FS range and ball skills that most scouts drool over.

You are 100% correct.

I understand the Cardinals try to make sure their players are healthy to avoid injuries.......how has that been working out for them ?

Foster and Allen will be back next year, and at that point, will Reddick be a better football player than those two ?

I understand the argument, but the Cardinals have been WIPED OUT by injuries both short term, David Johnson, and Carson Palmer, and long term John Brown, and Tyrann Mathieu.

So, I am not really buying into the whole injury concerns. Allen, Foster, and even Hooker had injury concerns coming out of college. I am starting to think that is because they played a lot of football against good competition, and football players get hurt, especially the ones that play a lot.

Not saying that is the best logic, but the Cardinals have had some of the worst injury situations I have ever seen, so it seems kind of silly at this point.

Biggest mistake was to pass on Watson and Mahomes. Wouldn't even have cost us a 2018 pick to move up a bit, just our 2017 2nd or 3rd. Now we have to either sell the farm or settle for yet another bridge QB that won't lead us anywhere. Especially Mahomes I'll never understand. He is a BA QB if there ever was one. Maybe the plan was all along to not draft a QB since BA was close to retirement, but if so it was a huge mistake. Watson nobody could know how he'd turn out. But if their was a match made in heaven it was Mahomes sitting behind Palmer/Stanton and taking over in 2018. He shredded the Broncos 1st string defense with the Chiefs backup offense in week 17. Yikes, what a miss by Keim.

As for Reddick, he'll be fine. He's shown some flashes down stretch and I think his best position is on the edges where his athleticism is evident even if he doesn't know what he's doing yet. A pass rush of Chandler Jones, Golden, Reddick, Pierre could be devastating, think of the Superbowl 50 Broncos.

PFF grades are crazy anyway. Evan Engram had one of the best rookie TE seasons ever, yet a bad PFF grade. I like PFF in general, but very often their grades are too technical and don't reflect the real impact of valuable players.

that wasnt the miss in my mind --Foster fell for a reason that all NFL teams knew

it was taking Reddick over Marlon Humphrey or Tradavious White or even Adoree Jackson

Man I wanted Mahomes bad last year. I just know he is going to be a star in this league.

Completely disagree. Reddick needs to move back inside or if we switch to a 4-3 Be an WOLB

Golden-Nkemdiche-Pierre-Jones

Considering Humphries has barely seen the field in 2 seasons Thompson would have been a step up at this point. It's no secret that BASK has been awful in their drafting. When you have 5 drafts and point to only a few players who have made an impact, that's not good.

I'm not going to judge any young player in his first year under the BA regime.

BA won a lot of games for us but he and his staff were absolutely awful at developing rookies and putting them in positions to succeed.

Let's see what he can do next year.

Reddick didn't show us much this season but we will see where he ends up. I'm not going to lament old draft picks as the BA regime is over. Remember it's not just the head coach the new guy is going to bring in a whole new team of coaches with new opinions and evaluations.

So rather than stress about old picks lets just see where the new guy (whomever that may be) takes SK.

I guess I'm saying let's see if SK's hit or miss drafting improves with a new coaching staff giving him different input.

I hope you’re right because right now he is just a crappy football player.

A report that grades Mahomes higher than Watson and Trubisky for this past season has no credibility.

Was going to say the same thing, and how is Fournette not in the high 80s, even 90s. He has made a huge difference for the Jags.

Another thing I look forward to with the new regime. It seemed BA kept trying to put players where they shouldn't be. I bet several rookies would have been lights out if they weren't put in a new position they never played in.
