They'd be foolish to not try....
We'd be foolish to listen....

Hutchinson would have to be a key part of any deal.
Not for me he wouldn't. The Cardinals need to be realistic, and the reality is this:
~We have two pro-bowl WRs
~We have major holes at other positions such as LB, CB and OL
~It's not THAT difficult to find competent WRs
~Hutch ISN'T going to be traded

You wouldn't be in the slightest bit interested if they offered Winfield and a 1st? I'd sure have to think long and hard about that one.

That's tough, I would expect Winfield is untouchable as is Hutch.

Maybe you can get Kenechi Udeze and draft picks? Udeze has 0 sacks this year but was a great pass rusher at USC and it's only his 3rd year. I don't know if he's been hurt this year or what the case is but he's still listed as a starter at DE on the best run defense in the NFL. They have 2 rookie DE's, Ray Edwards and some other kid, so they may be willing to part with Udeze in a package.

But to be honest, even Udeze and another #1 pick wouldn't do it for me. I don't see any other CB on their roster that interests me, same at LB. Williamson at WR is fast as hell but can't catch the ball and seems to be scared to go over the middle.

Nope...

Don't mean to be snide... but to trade a 23 year old wideout that can catch 100 balls a year, hardly falls under realistic. I'm for using the draft and free agency to fill needs. There are no quick fixes.

Just to be clear, I'm not advocating a trade for Fitz, I'm simply saying that the Cardinals are in no position to hang up the phone when/if someone calls about it.

Winfield is getting a little long in the tooth, he will 30 next year when he plays, and his numbers while decent aren't outstanding.

I would certainly listen to any offers they might make, but I would have to be wowed before I would take an offer.

Wasn't Winfield one of the guys that we torched for 405 yards last weekend?

This newspaper is a joke. This is the same newspaper that suggested that back in the spring of '04 Arizona should have trade Adrian Wilson, Boldin, and their 1st round draft pick for Randy Moss. There is no way Arizona will or should trade Fitz, especially when you look at who they have behind q and Fitz.

If we trade Fritzgearld to any team in the offseason I will refuse to go to any games period because that will prove even more how bad this ownership is.

Fun to dream up trades but in reality Fitz with Boldin and Leinart are the guys to build our team on.

I would trade Fitz for Matt Birk and an additional 1st rounder. Then i would draft Calvin Johnson with the second pick and Long the RT out of Michigan with the Vikings 1st pick. Me thinks that would be asking a little much but this is Fitz we are talking about.

Another scenario would be Drafting Adrian Peterson with our pick and teaming Dwayne Jarret with Leinart and Carroll with the Vikings pick. In this scenario I am trying to get something for Edge in the form of offensive line whether it be picks or vets.

You can't say Fitz is untouchable. Untouchable players is a luxury that only contenders have. Not teams that are going to finish 2 - 14. Anyone else remember Herschel Walker?

AF:

Trade Fitz for Birk/1st and trade Edge for a 2nd? We'd have a high first (ours), a middle first (MIN), a high 2nd (ours) and a high-mid 2nd (a team trading for Edge would be probably a 5-8 win team). Draft Peterson and Long in the first and WR and CB in the 2nd.

I'd have to think about all that. I love Fitz and I think Edge is getting a bad rap this year, although some of his antics are questionable. I just don't know if those trades fill enough holes for the value we are giving up....

jarrett is no faster than Fitz is though, but a great player too.

I thought about Birk but he's 30, given our luck he'd get hurt his first year here but he is a very good C.

I really find this hard to believe. Guys talking about trading Boldin or Fitzgerald. Just a couple of years ago, everyone was screaming about how the Cards always let the good players get away and now we are talking about trading away one of the only portions of the team that isn't broke and acting liking getting replacements for these guys is no problem.

Sounds like the flying fickle finger of fate is jamming someone in the rear end.

The reason it becomes a topic of conversation is that Fitz is very much Denny's guy and with Green gone Larry may be looking to move on as well.

Fitz has been reportedly headed to Minnesota since the day he announced his intentions to go pro.

Sorry, won't happen.

Dj, do you really believe the next HC isn't going to want Fitz and Boldin?
