Fitz is freakin Awesome.

But now its time to put my cap guru hat on and be a stick in the mud.

PFT already wrote what I was thinking about so I will just quote them, which is very much so true.

"But while Fitzgerald is reportedly willing, there might not be many options. As the NFL embarks on the last capped year of the current labor agreement, the old tricks like guaranteeing a huge chunk of current-year salary and spreading the cap hit over time won’t apply. Thus, short of a reduction in dollars due and payable to Fitzgerald in 2009, with no guarantee that he’ll make up the difference in 2010 or beyond, Fitzgerald can’t really help to solve the problem."

THANK-YOU! Fitz' :)

It's AWESOME when a player steps forward and offers something for the betterment of the team. A move like this makes a POWERFUL statement to ownership, teammates, fans, and even the rest of the NFL. "Class" move, Fitz'. :)

I was thinking the same thing. What could he really restructure? He got a big chunk of his money this year when he restructured.

Its a nice gesture, but I don't see what he could do.

So, much for Fitzgerald being a greedy, selfish guy, that is holding the team prisoner, etc., etc., etc. As per the views of many this offseason.

So far Fitzgerald has:

A. Hit every incentive in his rookie contract.

B. Restructured his deal to help the team out in last years off-season, that would be the offseason that lead to this run to the SB.

C. Is willing to redo his contract, AGAIN. In order to keep another Pro Bowl WR on the team.

I think it is safe to say Fitzgerald is the ultimate team player, and is willing to do what ever it takes to make the Cardinals a winner for a long time.

I hope this offseason Fitzgerald becomes a house hold name, and the face of the franchise. He deserves it.

There are three truths I am aware:

1.) Larry Fitzgerald is simply not of this world. In every aspect, he is god-like...

2.) We will be Super Bowl Champions after beating up on the Steelers...

3.) Q will be playing his last game in a Cards uniform this Sunday in Tampa...

There's a nice article on Fitz in the San Jose Mercury News today about how he ended up at Pitt because his grades in HS put off the bigname schools. Pitt's coaches convinced him to transfer to a Military Prepschool to get his grades up, he did, the big schools like Penn State came calling, but he said no Pitt was behind me when nobody else was interested, I'm going to stick with them now.

I'm sure it's hyperbole but in the article ex Pitt Coach Walt Harris and ex QB Tyler Palko(now a futures contract player for us) both said that in practice Fitz could regularly throw the ball 70 yards in the air. They also talk about how he had a broken hand while at Pitt and would go through entire practices catching everything with just one hand.

Good lord, is he gunning for a nobel prize for most awesome dude on the planet or something?

Won't make any difference, Q will likely be traded, but ffs Larry, can you tone down the awesome to 10 instead of 11? Save some of the greatness for the field!

I'm having serious questions about whose jersey I get next...Larry's or DRCs. Larry is making it very, very difficult.

I bought my first Cardinal jersey last year... I chose Fitz over Leinart and Boldin. Best Decision EVER! Now, I need to get a "Warner" Jersey, before he retires next week (after raising the trophy this weekend).

Seriously, I love Fitz! And I hope that Q drops that POS Rosenhaus and decides to extend with the Cards.

Hey, some of us tried to fight the good fight. I kept on expecting for you to chime in, and then I realized your fingers were probably paralyzed with rage.

I still think Boldin will get a new deal this offseason. Even if he doesn't, I bet he's back here next season.
