We should know within 24 hours if the Vikes@Cards game will be flexed to primetime. The teams have to be given 12 days notice.

Right now the game would be Miami-New England.

Does the NBC have the guts to pull pretty boy Tom off of primetime? I'd think they'd want to get on the Brett Favre gravy train, but I have a feeling that we won't get flexed.

(I mean, New England beating the crap out of a sub-par Miami team is much more compelling TV, right?)

Should be interesting to see if NBC goes with Brady or Favre/Warner on this one.

Doubt it will get flexed. The networks love Belichick, Brady and the Cheatriots for some reason. I think it may have been possible before, but since the Pats had their famous meltdown against the Colts, I don't think there is anyway they move that game out of that slot.

They love Brady but they also love Favre. It could go either way, but the more intriguing match up by a long shot is Vikings v. Cards.

IF NE loses to NO and Miami wins next week (against Buff), then their game is important as Miami will be one game away from being the division leader. It becomes an important game. How does NE get Monday night and Sunday night consecutively.

They have to notify the teams 12 days in advance of a potential "FLEX"; therefore, next weekends games are irrelevant. We should know tomorrow.

There is no way in Hades NBC is going to intentionally piss of Bob Kraft. Does anyone seriously think the Patriots would be okay with losing a prime time game? A divisional game between two East coast teams flexed for a Cardinals game? Even if it is Brett Favre on the other side of the ball there is no way they are going to do it.

I dunno...the Battle of the greybeards is pretty intriguing. Favre vs Warner? Gives new meaning to the "Senior Bowl"

Five reasons this will be flexed:

1. Favre
2. Favre
3. Favre
4. Favre
5. Favre

Then, two first place teams, a playoff potential matchup, Brett Favre and Kurt Warner for the greybeard battle, AP and Larry Fitzgerald for the superstar battle, Harvin and Beanie for the rookie battle...those all are scrumptious, delectable treats for prime time. Oh, and did I forget:

Favre??

It's a shame Madden is no longer on SNF...otherwise, you could take this to the bank.

Well, if Al Michaels has any say in it, the game will be flexed. He lives in LA and has roots in the Phoenix area. He went to ASU. He would love the short hop flight vs the cross country haul.

But I doubt it works that way. Besides, Bob Costas is an East Coast guy now and he has more pull than Michaels, I'm sure.

Somebody's crunching numbers to project ratings and ad revenue. My guess would be they'll choose the battle of the Greybeards. Both teams have players that would bring in a big audience.

If there is anything that ESPN loves more than East Coast teams and the Patriots, it's Brett Freaking Favre. I'm shocked that several of you doubted this would be flexed.

I'm surprised that the networks aren't already promoting the big game next year when the Vikings play the Patriots. I'm sure Favre will be back again and you throw in Randy Moss against his old team and of course Tom Brady, and you have ESPN wetting themselves.

Yeah, I'm shocked that people didn't think it would get flexed. The only reason this game wasn't going to get flexed would be if Fox protected it. No way Dolphins/Patriots is bigger than this game.
