Plot Summary: From the producers of "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" and "Knocked Up" comes a comic look at one guy's arduous quest to grow up and get over the heartbreak of being dumped -- if he can only make himself start "Forgetting Sarah Marshall."

Struggling musician Peter Bretter (Jason Segel, "How I Met Your Mother") has spent six years idolizing his girlfriend, television star Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell, "Veronica Mars"). He's the guy left holding her purse in paparazzi photos and accidentally omitted from acceptance award speeches. But his world is rocked when she dumps him and Peter finds himself alone. After an unsuccessful bout of womanizing and an on-the-job nervous breakdown, he sees that not having Sarah may just ruin his life.

To clear his head, Peter takes an impulsive trip to Oahu, where he is confronted by his worst nightmare: his ex and her tragically hip new British-rocker boyfriend, Aldous (Russell Brand), are sharing his hotel. But as he torments himself with the reality of Sarah's new life, he finds relief in a flirtation with Rachel (Mila Kunis), a beautiful resort employee whose laid-back approach tempts him to rejoin the world. He also finds relief in several hundred embarrassing, fruity cocktails.

For anyone who has ever had their heart ripped out and cut into a billion pieces comes a hilarious, heartfelt look at relationships -- featuring Paul Rudd, Jonah Hill, Bill Hader and Jack McBrayer. Part romantic comedy, part disaster film, "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" is the world's first romantic disaster comedy.

this movie is supposed to be hilarious. Can Apatow's factory rebound from the relatively dissappointing WALK HARD? Maybe nto at the box-office, but i'll give it a shot.

See, if it's a director or actor that has a good track record for me, I'll usually give it a shot. This just looks awful, though. I'm sorry, but it does. MAYBE on DVD, only because I don't have to pay for it.

I haven't read one negative review...In fact, I've heard it's funnier than Superbad and Knocked Up. I'm sure the wife and I will see this soon.

Funnier than Superbad...not as difficult as many believe. Funnier than Knocked Up...I highly doubt it. It just doesn't look that good, like a bad date movie.

I LOVE How I Met Your Mother, so I'll be all over this...just not in the theater, sadly, since I never get there.

Almost NO movie is worth the cost of the theater.

There is full frontal by Jason Segal if that helps.

I might go and buy an extra ticket. With that extra ticket, I will leave an empty seat next to me for my dead friend jenna.

No, that hurts. I think he's funny; not particularly attractive.

I'll never say no to full frontal :p, but I'm with ya on the not particularly attractive part. He's okay and looks like a cool guy to party with, but not my cup of tea.

Anyway, I wanna check this out. Looks funny. BTW, I did not really like Superbad all that much and I have yet to see Knocked Up.

Funniest movie since at least Knocked Up, if not funnier. Loved it.

The local critic loved it. I rely more on viewer opinions. Every person I've talked to has loved it.

I'll see it this week.

Okay, so what is it about this movie? From the outside, it simply looks like a trite, dime-a-dozen screwball comedy about a guy getting over the girl. What am I missing?

from what I heard, it's that's it's relatable AND funny and not completely over the top like most romantic comedies are. Haven't seen it myself but from all the word that's what my guess is.

Ehhhhh...I'm not convinced. It just looks like 50 First Dates mixed with P.S. I Love You. Not my cup of tea.

Just saw this with the wife and we both really enjoyed it. It's not funnier than Knocked Up but definitely better than Superbad and well worth the price of admission. Consistently funny throughout, and we never felt like it was dragging. The characters were also well written and performed by the actors with no generic bad/good guys. Another plus, to me, is that the funniest parts of this movie are not given away in the trailers.

See it.

really? Those seem like the polar opposite of what this movie is supposed to be like. Dates is the very definition of the "high-concept" romcom and P.S. I love you just looked like a pile of dramedy crap.
