I don't think they could pull off a trade for Kawhi without including their pick this year in that deal. San Antoni has one of the best front offices in the league and they wouldn't let him go for pennies on the dollar. Any future picks wouldn't have as much value because we'd have Kawhi on the team so the Suns wouldn't be competing for the worst record in the league any more.

Would you do Knight + our 2018 top-3 protected?

SA wouldn't.

To get Leonard, our first round pick would be unprotected and that would only be the BEGINNING of negotiations.

Obviously the pick would go to them.

Nope. It would probably take a first for a team to take Knight's contract

Obviously the pick would go to them.

That's what I thought also but a few people are mentioning Kawhi with Bamba and that isn't possible unless the Suns could trade back into the top of the draft to take Bamba but after trading for Kawhi they wouldn't have much to do that.

Wow, I really like that lineup, although I am unfamiliar with Gilgeous-Alexander. And I'm a bit on the fence about Reed.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is a long (6’6) pg prospect at Kentucky. Was the lowest ranked kid but has really shown some upside. If he can develop into a good pg he’d be a helluva one/two punch with Elfrid.

I think going after Jabari Parker is a legit idea this summer. He has had injury problems but he is a legit pf and Milwaukee might not want to try to resign him. Maybe they would take their pick back in exchange for relinquishing their matching rights. That would probably be worth it.

I don’t think he’s a legit PF. More of a swing forward. He’s certainly not a power player.

If need be, just buy out Knight and prorate his salary over time. He has no trade value at this time except a negative value.

Daniels would be a better backup at SG than Reed based on what we've seen so far. Daniels is good in the instant offense role off the bench but if his shot is off then he's not worth that much time. However backing up Booker he'd get the least amount of time anyways.
We haven’t had a real chance to see what reed brings to he table and he looked pretty good in the summer. Daniels is really a specialist. He doesn’t bring Mich to the table as a distributor or penetrative and brings nothing to the table defensively. Don’t get me wrong, as a floor spacer, and for the money, he’s always got a place on my team. But if Reed becomes a true 3-D player at a couple inches and lbs bigger than Daniels that’s a big potential upgrade.

He’s locked up for five years and he wouldn’t be able to bang for a trade because he’s just not THAT good to demand one. So, even if he’s upset... too bad.

Reality is with Jackson, his days are numbered in the starting lineup if this squad if going to take the next step.
Lots of people on here worried about a lot of feelings. Sheesh. This is big time sports.

Kawhi wants out last I heard. Maybe he calms down, but if he pulls a Kyrie I think Spurs will have to take what the market bears.
Kawhi is a former MVP. His value is MUCH greater than was kyrie’s And other teams will offer a lot more than a protected pick and garbage. And this is the Spurs. It may have happened, but I can’t recall another team taking them to the cleaners in any deal.

Aldridge wanted out too. DUNCAN was a second away from signing with Orlando too.

The next HUGE star that leaves Pop will be the first and I’ll velieve it when it see it.

18’ unprotected
Jackson
choice of Bender or Chriss (probably both declined by SA)
Mia 1st
Dudley expiring to match salary

for

Kawhi

————-

Payton, Knight
Booker, Reed
Warren, Kawhi
Kawhi, Bender or Chriss
Chandler, Williams

After this past month it’s hard to imagine even a top-5 player making much of a difference though...

I would do my best to give them Warren instead of Jackson. I would also go for the Suns pick next year and the Milwaukee pick instead of this year's pick. But that probably would not cut it.

I have been a Suns fan a long time, and we have never had a real shot at the #1 overall pick. I would wait to trade until after the lottery drawing. If its #1 overall, I probably will not trade it.

If PHX can't get Gordon who they are supposedly targeting I would go after Randle. LA is not to going to re-sign him because they need cap room to sign Paul George & LeBron to max deals. I hope HOU targets another big FA so that it decreases their chances of re-signing Capela. I would rather have Capela over Randle but if we draft a C like Ayton then we would need a PF. Randle & Bender could split time at the PF spot. I like Payton and hope PHX retains him. If PHX takes a major slide, I would hope for Wendell Carter and sign Capela and keep Payton.

it.

Yeah... I don’t think that offer would come close to cutting it.

I doubt that Capela will be available. As for Randle, it will be interesting to see if the Lakers change their mind about him, especially if it looks like George is going to re-up with the Thunder. They're right around .500 (or maybe over it) when Randle is in the starting lineup -- I saw the stat just a day or two ago, but now I can't track it down. (Of course, most of those games have been with Ball out, which could also be the reason for their improved performance.) It's looking more and more like Randle's numbers translate into better chances to win, not just box score filler.

If Houston wins a title this year though I think they'll resign Capela no matter the cost. However if they come up shot and make a run at Lebron, like has been rumored, they will probably need to let Capela walk. Once Lebron and Paul George sign their deals this summer I think Capela would be the biggest name available at that point. That would probably price him out of the Suns range.

Any interest in Jabari Parker?

For me, he's number 1. I watched some of his game yesterday, and he's close to be being back, he was driving hard right at anthony davis and finishing.

Offer him 4 years 100million max, it's not a slam dunk Milwaukee matches.

Aaron gordon is my second choice, gambo said last week he is suns number 1, but did not rule out Parker, said depends on injury.

Why are fans giving up our players for someone who is a free agent in 2019?

I was glad to see last most summer, most fans saw why it was dumb to trade for kyrie, it is same with kawahi.

As I recall the Suns would not pay Amare Stoudemire $100 million coming off an injury so I can't see the Suns doing it for Parker.

As I understand it, Parker has torn the ACL in his left knee twice.

It makes no sense unless there are assurances that he resigns here. But even then, he can just change his mind. Remember the Cleveland and Carlos Boozer story. The Suns cannot afford to squander all their assets. We would be in the basement forever.
