The salary cap is a farce that can easily be manipulated if needed. And anyone defending our cap policies over the past 6ish years should be outed as a paid informant of the Bidwill family.

Very good get for a team going all in. It doesn't effect the cards as much in the long term imo as he's already over 30 years old and the cards ain't competing for the playoffs next year. Cards would be smart to sit this free agency out other than some short term pieces and possibly re-signing one of Allen and Murphy. Cap should be in good order next year and hopefully a ton of young talent can be obtained in the 23 and 24 drafts especially with all the trades and draft picks likely to come.

I would argue this staff has zero credibility and needs to win game sooner rather than later.

here is the thing:

per OTC: The Cards have the 8th highest effective cap space available ("effective" takes into account the number of players under contract).

the NFL mid point is around $10mm in effective cap space and the Cards have $24.5mm

no excuses to resign their own AND add a piece or two

Not realistic in 2023 imo. Likely no starting QB for around the half the year and just limited talent across the roster other than in a few areas. They just need to not get absolutely embarrassed like the Wilks 2018 team and play hard and be somewhat competitive. 2024 is in my mind when the window opens to build out the team and possibly switch out QBs too.
