Hey all, KLL has been talking about doing a music club meeting in March, and he had at one point suggested my gig on March 11th as a place to start. So, I'm inviting everyone here to the show at The Clubhouse in Tempe. It's a Friday night, but it's an early show (7pm). I hope everyone who can make it will, it'll be a fun night, as it'll be the first show I've played with the new material from my album.

I definitely plan on going to this....would be wonderful to have several people representing ASFN to support Vince during his debut live solo performance.....

For those who also plan on attending...please let me know so we could all meet up for dinner beforehand or something along those lines.....

My band Dephinger is playing that show too!
I'll be rockin' my Cardinals jersey

You're perform "hardcore punk", correct? What instrument(s) do you play? Also, do you have an official band website or any MP3s of your bands music? Which bands in particular would you compare you music to? Sorry for all those questions, but I'm currently working on some sort of a project to help promote "ASFN bands", will elaborate more as developments are made....

Anyways... w/in the next wk I'll post a "roll-call" thread for those who definitely plan on gathering that night so we can make that we all meet-up in some "unified fashion"......

I've listened to the first 3 songs so far.....Really love the sound and lyrics... Reminds me a lot of The Butthole Surfers, Meat Puppets, and some of The Stooges.....

Will be interesting to see Vince and Dephinger (really love that name as well) together on the same bill.....Just 2 entirely different extremes in genre, but both are "on top of their game" in the process.....

thanks KLL

those lyrics - from the the guitarists life - he REALLY does love the tubbs, driving drunk, etc.
We'll be playing some newer stuff "Little Girls", "Fire, 40's, & Fat Chicks".
Yes - we are lowbrow!

I know we're about a 1 1/2 week away from Vince's & Dephinger's perfomance at the Clubhouse (http://www.clubhousegigs.com) Map to Clubhouse (both links courtesy of Vince from another thread), but I would like to know who definitely plans on attending..... I know Vince56 and andikrist will obviously be there! :D

I plan on going for sure....anyone else?

This essentially will be the 1st meeting of the "ASFN Music Club", however, our purpose of course in this instance is to show-up for support to 2 of our "ASFN comrades"......

I would love for those who are attending to meet up somewhere before the "gig" for dinner and make sure that we are all "uniformed" so noone shows-up w/out meeting any (or all) of the ASFNers in attendance......

This is going to be a fun show. I'm really excited about it because I've never played alone on stage before. I'm hoping that a new guitar I just ordered is here in time to play at the show as well.

It'll be fun checking out Andi's band too. The clubhouse seems like the new "it" club for punk and metal.

Ugh - i think we play at midnight - there'll be 5 bands or so between the 2 of us.
I'll check out Vince, THEN go for a bite...

Just got back from Vince's show. It was pretty amazing - his sound live is exactly like on the album, no studio tricks here.

Crowd was pretty sparse, but started to fill in towards the end of the set - that was just too early a time slot on a Friday, but I'm sure with his performance he will earn a better slot next time.

The sound system was great, as well as the lighting and smoke machine. Vince, you will have to post some of the pix your fiancee took.

crizzap!

my allergies were thumping me after work - i slept from 5-7:3o, went to dinner, showed up at the venue 10 pm. of course i missed Vinces set. Guess I'll download your music...
The "promoter" of this show really screwed the pooch - no posters or flyers in Eastside or Zia, no print ad except for the Clubhopuse ad in New Times, the best known band, Bldg 5, never showed, and Dephinger didn't get to play - promoter said "the soundman is tired".
And here we were thinking that we had snuck on to a big 6 band show....
Works better for us to have 3 band lineups at small bars, no cover, cheap strong drinks - Like Apr 1st CD release bash @ Tupelo Tap room...

Actually the guitar in the clips is my main Ibanez 7-string. The new guitar I just ordered I used as a backup guitar that night. Fun stuff :)
