I cannot wrap my head around DEN for Manning, but whatever. Seems stupid as hell to me, but it's his bone up to make....

Peyton is an idiot if he goes to the Bronocs. I will laugh when they get owned. Tenn I understand more but a contract for life?!? Big Deal...really. Peyton would have been welcomed anywhere.

But what is really dumb and it shows. He thinks the AFC is the better option because of easier path. How stupid could you be? He has a losing record in the AFC playoffs when he had 12-4, 11-5 teams! He also doesn't understand///that all the AFC teams except the Texans play in cold weather...So unless the Titans get home field advantage (Broncos is moot) he has to go to either Pittsburgh, Baltimore, New England to win...Which he sucks at. NFC...has 1 maybe 2 bad weather teams that usually get home field...Green Bay and maybe Eagles. I mean if the Saints get it...ok, many other teams are warm weather. His logic is stupid...his teammates at either team are garbage. How these ******** ESPN experts say these teams DEFENSE'S are GOOD...really pisses me off!!!!! The Cardinals are rated higher than both his so called finalists and we were top 6 last half of the season!!!! Plus we have a WR that can help him break RECORDS. How dumb is he??? I say screw him...Lets get Hassleback if he goes to Tennessee or go with Skelton if he chooses the Broncos. Wow..because John ELway made him laugh...he wants to go to Denver....That is insane!!! They are built to run...have always been that way since SHanahan was their. They had decent pocket passing QB's and where did that get them? John FOx is a running coach..hence his teams at Carolina. Oh well...maybe this is a silver lining...Maybe one of those easy soft AFC teams defenses...will hit him...he gets carted off(Hope is ok im not evil) just saying, that his career was never destined to continue and we didn't get him and then watch him go down.(which in the long run would have been much worse)

Still can't believe Larry Fitzgerald couldn't talk him or help him decide how easy this decision should have been. Hell...the Nation picked us over everyone and how much clout do we have with them! LOL...Dumb!

I still think we have a decent chance--If I had to break it down it'd be 30/30/30 for Cards/Broncos/Titans and 10 for Miami.

JMHO
Yesterday, I pegged our chances at 30% (& raised it to 33.3% for "good behavior").

Right now I'd drop it to 20% because we're the one team where "time is the enemy." (24 hours and counting...)

You guys that say you don't care whether he comes here are lying. If you don't think you a lying, then you are lying to yourself. You would not be looking at this board if you didn't care. You would not be taking the time to post on a PM thread. We all care, and I'm pretty sure we all want him, bad.

I agree that the wait is excruciating, but good thing come to those who wait...

I have posted before and Ill post it again...I don't want him.

I don't blame him for taking his time. The only thing I would really like him to do is inform the Cardinals before Kolb's deadline. And if he doesn't do that, it's not even that bad: the Cards were the ones who structured Kolb's contract. It's not Peyton's responsibility to live up to its requirements.

Manning realizes this and he would likely also realize its impact on FA. No way he chooses us AFTER Kolb's bonus hits. If he wants AZ, he will let us know ahead of time. If Kolb's bonus hits before Manning has made his decision, rest assured that he has narrowed us out of consideration.

Agree with this but would hope he would tell us this himself. One thing to note is this all could have been avoided if the Colts would have let him go a month ago. Really not Peyton's fault.

I assume as much, which means it's nice to know that we'll actually know soon.

And then back to our regularly scheduled programming...

You should sleep like a baby tonight ... he is not coming to AZ. If he was coming to AZ we'd know by now. Given how the Cards FO works there's no way this deal would get done before Kolb's bonus is due tomorrow. He hasn't even been examined by the Cards doctors has he?

yes, he has...that is why he brought that mysterious bag for the physical and we had team docs in the building two days before living off the vending machine so no one would be privy to the info and know of their arrival... 95% sure of this :)

This has been stated before. Here is how it would go down. Peyton: "Hi Coach Whiz, it's Peyton. I've chosen to play for you." Whiz: "Rod, he's coming!". Graves: "Roger, we are not picking up the option on Kevin Kolb."

It takes a phone call. We'll follow up with the physical and all the other crap. The contract parameters are understood going in (even if Condon wasn't with him)

There must still be a chance otherwise the Cards would have tried to do something with Marshall.

Marshall gave the Cardinals a chance to match his offer. The Cardinals declined---and quite frankly for what he was offered they should have declined. Not to say he wasn't a good, versatile situational player for the Cardinals---but at that price tag, situational isn't going to cut it.

The Peyton Nightmare reminds me of the lyrics from "Mother"

Hush now baby, baby, don't you cry.
Mama's gonna make all your nightmares come true.
Mama's gonna put all her fears into you.
Mama's gonna keep you right here under her wing.
She won't let you fly, but she might let you sing.
Mama's gonna keep baby cozy and warm.
Ooooh baby, ooooh baby, oooooh baby,
Of course mama's gonna help build the wall.

Big difference between caring if he comes to Arizona and obsessing over it. Looks to me like many have moved on to the offensive line situation. Of course we care. But if Manning signs with us GREAT. If not, well we're not any worse than we were before.

You know, if the Cardinals would have just lost this game:

Falcons at Cardinals

instead of scoring 2 touchdowns with less than 5 minutes to go, including the winning one with 4 seconds left, they could have had Peyton manning 14 years ago. With no competition.

Its all over Grover. Lets move on. The only thing I disagree with was that it was fun while it lasted. For me it flashed back to the old obnoxious drill where every free agent seemed to waltz through here on their way to somewhere else.

Archie wouldn't have allowed it. Just like Eli.

Actually, the Cardinals would have traded the pick. At the time, Peyton Manning and Ryan Leaf were both seen as pretty much the same, so if the Cardinals were willing to trade the #2 pick, they would have traded the #1 pick. In fact, when they made the trade with San Diego, nobody was even sure if the Colts were going to select Manning or Leaf.

However, to say that "Archie wouldn't have allowed it" is kind of ridiculous. Archie had no issues with Peyton going to the Colts, who, with the exception of a flukish two-year run in 1995-96 were regarded as one of the worst franchises in the NFL at the time. The year Manning was drafted was the third time in nine years the Colts had 'earned' the top pick in the draft.
