Im not up in arms about it just was pretty certain you would have a different stance related to those players and I was mostly right. Markus Golden while not a Mack or a Bell has already proven when healthy to be way more the player then Mayowa with a 12.5 sack season and 50+ tackles in 2016. I have no issue with them starting him and obviously using him sparingly over Mayowa. Im doubting Mayowa really does either.

What about the 0 sacks he recorded in 4 games in 2017? They don't matter?

Brandon Williams CB #4. That should really make some upset.

How many games did Chandler Jones go with out a sack his second year? I remember Shane creating a post complaining about Jones & how much we paid for him. Just because he went 4 games without a sack means absolutely nothing.

Had to look up a few new players I didn't know we picked up. OG Jeremy Vujnovich started all 16 games for the Colts last year at LG. He was the 80th ranked OG out of 80 so I'm not going to expect to much from him, but at least he was healthy all year long. The other guys have mostly been practice squad guys or had very little playing time.
OT Blaine Clausell, DT Garrison Smith and DE Zach Moore. It's too bad that Dora got released after playing so well.

Chadler Jones' second season with us he had 17.0 sacks and never went more than one game without getting one. In 2016 he went 4 games without a sack, but he already had 8 on the season.

You're right; going a full quarter of a season with 0 sacks is non-deteminative.

Well, did Golden go 4 games without a sack when he lead the team?

I was off on the years. Still same point. In 2016 Golden had 12.5 sacks & Jones had 11 that year. Did it determine that Jones sucked at rushing the passer? You can be snarky all you want but it doesn't change the fact. Golden going 4 games without a sack before he got hurt has no bearing on this years production. None.

But Golden getting 11 sacks 2 years ago does? Does it matter that Golden hasn't recorded a sack since New Years Day 2017?

I never said they did. You said the 4 games he didn't get a sack did matter. Not me. That's what I'm rebuking.

I remember Markus golden getting several meaningless sacks in the last 4 games of the 2016 seasons
I think he will never match those numbers
Was pretty slow before the injury and he should be even slower now
If u have the opportunity to watch his sacks u can see is far from being a sack master, I give him credit to never quit a play, but not much else

Is not a critic, is just my opinion, happy to be wrong

People come back all the time from ACL’s now and don’t lose any speed

Von Miller went 4 games w/o a sack in 2016. Marcus Golden had a sack in 9 games in 2016, Larry Donald only had sacks in 8 games (one was only .5). Marcus Golden is equal to Von Miller and better then Aaron Donald!

The ACL thing really does not bother me with Golden because he does not have to run forty yards to get to the QB and his main strength is being a tenacious effort guy :)

I will take the David Johnson approach. All of this wondering whether Bell will show up and when crap annoys the hell out of me.
I have no issues with how Bell is handling his situation, and DJ will do the same thing next year if his contract isn't resolved. No team is apologizing to these RBs after they can't continue their career because teams won't sign guys with 350 carries per year. If I was making my bosses a ton of money, I had out performed my contract, and I had a limited career window, I would hold out as well. People in every industry have to put their personal interests ahead of the organizations at times, Bell is just in a rare situation where he has the leverage to do so.

How many years can someone go without getting sacks before it starts to matter?

I'm confused.

You are worried about Golden starting over Mayowa. Then you are concerned about how many sacks Golden has?

You do realize that Mayowa is like a 1-2 sack per year guy over his 5 year career.

Exactly. These teams have more money than they know how to spend. I don't blame the players getting all they can get.

and I don't blame teams from not wanting to pay RBs. This is the one position in the NFL of serious contention between analytics and players. RBs take arguably the biggest beating on offense and are asked to do so much, yet are considered as replaceable athletes by analytics once they are passed the age of 26.
