Wilmer Flores is batting .206 and still is part of a regular platoon
at 2B when Marte moves to start in CF against lefties.

Or worse, that the light hitting Flores is also our backup at 1B.
He hardly qualifies to be a backup corner position power hitter.

Especially now that Nick Ahmed's bat is back to being a weak
hitting Shortstop. And our three primary Catchers are not
really hitting threats.

That's four out of nine weak hitting positions in the batting
order when Flores is in. Considering that our success is in
the hands of the hitters, not pitching staff.

Despite Greinke's batting skills one out of every 5 games,
it is why I have changed my opposition to a universal
Designated Hitter rule in the National League. Three
weak hitters in the lineup make it four with the Pitcher.

John Ryan Murphy with a heads-up bunt base hit to load the bases with no
one out in the 7th against the Pirates reliever.

Edit:

Swihart pinch hitting in his first D-backs appearance. A swinging bunt and
the Pirates catcher blows it on an attempted force out at the plate. 4-2.
Bases still loaded with one out.

C'mon D-backs late inning rallies. Three hits in a row so far. But then a
force out at the plate. One out.

The D-backs lead the Majors in most base hits after the, I think they said,
6th inning.

Escobar with a bloop hit to LF and a run scores. 4-3. Bases still loaded
with 1 out and Peralta up.

And the Freight Train comes through with a 3-run triple !!! !!! !!! 6-4 D-backs.
David "Clutch" Peralta. Who says there is no clutch on a freight train? :)

And another pitching change for the Pirates. And a 2-run homer by Christian
Walker. 8-4 D-backs. A 7-run 7th and they've batted around.

Yoshi on to pitch the bottom of the 7th. And Walker out on a double switch
to rest his recent minor injury.

The 7th inning is were they start to bat well.

The 7th inning is where they start to bat well.
It is good that they do (often), but bad that they rely on that.

Our pitching is so mediocre that it only puts more pressure on them.

Based on performances, the Suns really need to take a look at who
would be their best choices for 7th and 8th inning relief specialists.

Then present it as an opportunity to Archie and Yoshi to work their
ways back. It is a fine line between unconditional loyalty and doing
what is best for the team. Management needs to find it.

The Suns?

Oh, I did it again. I go back and forth between the D-backs and Suns on ASFN.

There is a difference between the D-backs and Suns.

Maybe Kendrick, despite his previous indiscretions, can counsel Sarver on how
to be a Managing General Partner.

The guys just commented that Christian Walker qualifies as a rookie
and is, therefore, eligible for Rookie of the Year.
