Neither of the starting pitchers have begun to get loose here in Philadelphia, where the tarp is covering the field. They haven't announced anything, but this game is not going to start on time.

I've never seen this before: Tonight's #Dbacks starting pitcher Taylor Clarke is signing autographs before going out to the bullpen to warm up. Good for him.

And humidity! When I went through Basic Training at Ft. Dix, the temperature and humidity
were both 90-95. Brutal! They actually curtailed some of the field activity because of it.

41 years in Phoenix and I have never seen a day that uncomfortable.

Even when it was 122. Even during Monsoon.

In the Valley, it may rain five days a year -- during the day.

Back in New Jersey, it rained five days a week.
