If i had to pick one player---it would be Blaine Gabbert. Under the circumstances, his performance was clutch.

Regained some faith in Mitch here. This was the # 1 defense in the NFL, not some nondescript, run-of-the-mill defense. He ran for 1st down twice in one drive, getting out of bounds to stop the clock while doing so.
Anyone trying to give the game ball to anyone else is an idiot. We have not had another QB since Jake Plummer that could have pulled that off.

Threw for less than 50%, INT, and fumble for TD in the 2nd half. Nearly cost us the win.

He WON it. What part of that do you not understand ? We won due to what he did. Are you one of these "I hate Gabbert so he could not have been good" types ? What was that all about ?

Not hating. Providing a counter argument for why he shouldn’t get the game ball. Had Blaine maintained his 1st half pace, sure. But he regressed in the 2nd half, much like last week, and put us in a difficult situation.

I’d give the ball to Dawson, Chandler and Badger before I begin considering Gabbert.

Chandler and Badger played against an average (at best) offense, and the key was kill the run, which they didn't really impact anymore than the rest of the defense. Gabbert played against the # 1 defense in the NFL and engineered the win at the end. Any argument against that is just sheer non-sense.

If he does as well against the RAMS, he is going to prove he is the best QB we have (uninjured or injured) even if we don't win. The defense has to prove itself next week, far more than Gabbert does.

Calm down. The OP is about who I️ would give the game ball to, not who actually got it. He beat his former team. Of course, Coach was going to give him the ball.

I’m one of those, “Blaine has a long, measurable history of substandard play, and would like to see a decent sample size before I️ give him the benefit of the doubt” types. I️ said he had a great first half, but tailed off in the second, which is why I️ felt others were more deserving of a game ball. His sack/fumble literally gave Jacksonville the lead and his INT was very ill-timed.

I agree that Jones had a monster game and deserves a game ball. However this was really a team effort! Contributions from everywhere. Especially from the younger guys and toss in the old man Phil Dawson.

That is what was most encouraging for me. Young guys stepping up and making plays when needed.

I believe that Chandler Jones now leads the league in Sacks and Tackles for a Loss.

It's not often that Bill Belichick gets owned in a trade but Keim just schooled him with this one.
