Awesome episode, I think it was the best of the season. I enjoyed it much more than the Battle of the Bastards because I thought that was the most predictable GoT episode to date. This had a lot of fun stuff leading up to the big battle.

Exactly. This one wasn't predictable at all.

maybe people hyped this up too much before I saw it, but I wasn't nearly as blown away as others. It was a really good episode, but nothing of major consequence really happened. With a battle that big, I was expecting something of major consequence to happen out of it... but it didn't really.

the little moments... chaos is a ladder, etc. were more interesting to me than the ending.

It's a big deal because Dany eliminated 1/2 of Cersei's army, effectively shifting the balance of power back to her, for now. Additionally, the dragon destroyed the weapon that Qyburn and Cersei were convinced would kill the dragons.

yeah... I get it. but there was nothing all that surprising. I guess the weapon not working was a surprise, but nothing else really caught me off guard. Dany's got dragons... they will kick everyone's ass. Expected that. I don't know... just wasn't super blown away.

Loved it. Even though I pictured in my head what it would look like it exceeded my expectations. The FX were first rate. I have seen plenty of movies or shows with dragons and they always seem to disappoint. The fire FX were spot on and totally bad ass.

A+

probably. I had a couple friends (jerkoffs) who watched the pirated version and told me it was the best episode ever. So was expecting something truly massive... like on the scale of red wedding or Joffrey's death or the head-smashing ending of the trial by combat. So, from that perspective, it was a bit of a letdown.

IMO, the absolute BEST scene was the sparring.... Sansa had the "oh that's so cute" attitude about Arya's list... she was a bit more interested after Bran mentioned it and gave her the dagger... but when she saw little sister spar with Brienne the gravity of who Arya has become fully set down upon her I think. I liked seeing the culmination of all the ordeals Arya went through in Braavos...the small one is a legitimate bad ass even without trickery...... and while I like Brienne...it was amusing to see her get a reality check...and to see Baelish at first recognize Arya as a potential pawn to play with and then watch that graduate into his recognition that this girl is dangerous..it was very sweet.
but I must admit,...when she was doing the dagger flourishing towards Brienne I kinda expected her to spin and hurl that dagger into littlefingers throat.

The harpoon weapon worked...it did not bounce off like the arrows did... Bronn just missed his mark....we can be certain there are at least a dozen more of those things in kings landing.
my major geek moment,..lol... I nearly got a bit choked up to finally see the dragons deployed in westeros,...I mean,...this is what we have been waiting for the past six years right?...it had to be horrible for Tyrion to watch his brother live up to his reputation when everyone was telling him to run...watching Jaimie sink was a bit weak as far as cliffhangers go though
it was a great episode but I was really pissed that my guide said it was an hour... but then they rolled credits at 650 instead of 7.... they left out an entire sequence/scene.

I had to rewind five times to hear what Bran said to Littlefinger that rattled him so much, lol.

It's funny you say that because I played back that scene with captions on because the dialogue was so low.

I always watch TV with closed captioning on, not because I have hearing issues but habit, and in Game of Thrones particularly it's something that has helped quite a bit due to some of sound leveling and also the accents. Sometimes you'll see something more as well, like in the premiere when Jorah wasn't shown but was talking to Sam from his cell it said it was Jorah speaking offscreen which is something a few friends of mine missed on their first viewing because his voice wasn't as distinct as usual.

I guess for me it was the culmination of things I was waiting to see since the first season. The Dothraki screamers finally meeting a Westerosi army in open field, like Robert and Eddard talked about in the 1st season. Dragons actively involved in battle, something that hadn't happened since Aegon the Conqueror 300 years before. Jaime's expression, along with every other Lannister shown during those scenes were epic. Jaime's sinking to the bottom of that lake while wearing armor. I don't think they'd kill him off like that, so I'm curious to see what happens there. That entire battle blew me away, from the moment we hear the Dothrakis until the end.

I'm 99.9% sure it was Bronn who saved Jaime. Bronn is the only character who has the fingertips of his gloves cut off and the person who saved Jaime had that same style of gloves.

I'd like to see him switch sides but I highly doubt that will happen. It's been too long since a character was killed off and I suspect Bronn will get offed before Jaime, in an attempt by Dany to show she's serious. Also he shot Drogon, which I don't see being excused.

Here's a GIF of the tackle, you can watch it over and I think it's clear that it's Bronn.

Here is a pic of that scene also...

Here is another image, this shows his hands and the gloves that I mentioned....

I think they said somewhere in the show that they had 6 of the weapons made.
