Clay Matthews almost looked like an extra blocker on Fitz's huge play. Didn't even try to make a tackle - even though he had speed and an angle on Fitz. He looked like a spectator on that play. That's going to look really good in the film room...

Clay was completely out of position on that 75 yard completion. Probably feels a bit embarrassed. Makes sense to hear him pout like that.

Green Bay is a class organization with class players...just like the Cardinals are. They were bounced out of the playoffs two years in a row in OT in games they should have won. If they are bitter and want to complain they have every right to. Let them have it, we would all be complaining today too if that game went the other way. The officiating sucked on both sides and both teams failed to put the game away when they had chances.

How many of us in here are still stung and complain about the SBXLIII loss?

Why should GB have won yesterday? If they felt cheated by the OT rules then they should have gone for 2 after the TD.

Honestly, I think the rule should be changed too, and wouldn't have been mad at all if BA or a prominent Cardinal would have said something to the effect of "These are the rules and we are happy with the win, but the rule should be revisited going forward and each team should have the opportunity to have the ball."

To have the team that lost complain about the rule just sounds like sour grapes.. but if the team that wins says something it might resonate more with the fans/league.

If the packers dont like it maybe they shouldn't have left one of the best receivers ever WIDE OPEN. So open that there wasn't another player on the screen when he caught the ball. So open that there wasn't another player within 10 yards of him.

If Green Bay wanted to be sure the ball was in Aaron Rodgers hands to decide the game then they should have gone for two after the TD. They knew the OT rules when they chose to kick the XP and take their chances there.

Agreed. Once the Packers lost Cobb, it was going to be a tall order for them to win that game without Nelson, Cobb, Adams, and Montgomery at WR. They might have still lost going for two, but if you are the road underdog I think that might be your best chance in most cases. I think the Packer defense was wearing down in the 4th quarter too as the offense was not converting as many first downs. That is another reason why I would have rather gone for two instead of counting on a tiring defense and a depleted WR group in overtime. Oh well. Great game though. Good luck next week.

I think this is a really good point. Look at the college national championship playoff. They have a four team playoff, and now it is teams #5,6, etc. whining about they deserve to be in the playoff. At some point you decide on the rules and you play the game.

I liked sudden death and still do. This is still somewhat sudden death it just prevents you from scoring a quick FG and winning. Perfectly fine with this rule.

It's a compromise the NFL came up with a few years ago. It used to be if a game went into overtime, it was "sudden death". First team to score any kind of points won the game.

The rationale was, defense was just as important as offense and if you couldn't stop another team's offense, you didn't deserve to win.

Well, there was enough complaining about that that they changed the rules. Now, if your defense can just hold them to a field goal your team gets a chance with the ball.

But now that isn't good enough apparently.
