I also believe Stroud is a much better passer than Fields was his last year in college.
I went back and reviewed Fields' raw numbers versus Stroud, and their numbers are actually remarkably similar.

Stroud played from a TON of clean pockets. It's real hard to project how a player who barely had his jersey grass stained will play in the NFL. Just like you dinged Murray for a lack of adversity, Stroud has the same issue to a greater degree.

He throws the ball very well, sure, but how is he going to look playing for the Texans? Can he carry a team? I don't know if he can. I know Drake Maye can. Watch Chapel Hill games and you'll see a number of games where he has been forced to carry a team, and he did so at a high level. Stroud did play outstanding against Georgia, where he was pressured a bit more, but we haven't seen this consistently.

I think Bryce Young has some Drew Brees in him. That’s nothing more than an intuition hawt take so don’t at me…
That's the best case scenario. He could also be a more talented, shorter Chase Daniel.
It’s hard to evaluate recent Ohio St QB’s given the amount of talent around them. Same goes for the Lincoln Riley QB’s.
Lincoln Riley QBs have faired pretty well. When was the last good Ohio State QB? I don't include Fields because he isn't a good QB.
Anthony Richardson has to go to Seattle or Detroit and sit. If he’s thrown into the fire right away it will be ugly. It’s crazy to think had they not extended Kyler and everything else fell into place the same way last season we’re likely talking about these QB’s from a much different perspective.
I think Detroit would be foolish to draft a QB. None of these guys will be as good as Jared Goff next year. And I doubt these guys can even be as good as Goff was last year.

Seattle doesn't value QB like many other teams.

My issue with Stroud is Justin Fields and Dwayne Haskins.

Both mostly looked really good at Ohio State, but could hide deficiencies in their games because they were throwing to so many WIDE open receivers from very clean pockets. Haskins had a legit issue with the direction his feet would point when he would throw at times and in the NFL it led to really poor accuracy because teams could force him to throw on the move often.

Stroud's OL has likely 3, 2023 1st or 2nd day picks. The two guards will likely be 1st or 2nd day picks in the near future. He had the best WR prospect (Harrison Jr.) that the NFL has seen in many years, and a slew of other 1st round picks. Literally almost every receiver he has thrown to will be 1st round picks. It's crazy the level of talent Stroud played with.
