In what could be the most significant move of the Pittsburgh Steelers offseason (Aaron Rodgers-depending), wide receiver DK Metcalf joined the Black and Gold via a trade with the Seattle Seahawks this week.
Metcalf revealed to Steelers.com reporter Missi Matthews the names of the three players who contacted him after news of the trade came out.
Metcalf said he echoed their sentiments and that he's eager to get to know all of his new teammates.
You'll notice right away Metcalf didn't mention George Pickens. Aside from whoever the starting quarterback is, it's paramount that Metcalf and Pickens have a solid working relationship. Shooting the two-time Pro Bowler a simple text or calling to welcome him would've been the right move. Pickens is, after all, the most veteran receiver on the team.
It's way too soon to see this as a sign of things to come. But it's definitely not a good start.
