Swd you are flat out wrong. I've watched the entire game in slow motion /stop action and only once did Hayes get run over 1 on 1 with a RB. Hayes slightly overran the play and was slightly off balance when the guy hit him.

The exact same thing that happened to AJ Hawk when Edge ran over him on James TD.

In the 4th quarter Hayes had two 1 on 1 plays with the Packer FB. Hayes made the stop at the spot both times.

What happened did Hayes not shake your hand or sign an autograph for you?

If you want to knock Hayes do it for overrunning plays or doing an Adrian Wilson imitation on his tackles but saying he gets run over time after time is bogus.

Did the same when I got home. I tivo'd it to see if I would be on tv. (I forgot to make my sign so I didnt get on :( )

Hayes was never near the fans so no not bummed.

Im going off memory from work but there are 2 pklays in the 3rd quarter where he is ran over. He made the tackle 2-3 yards later (6-8 yards gain for the RB. But he was ran over nonetheless. There are more. I saw 5-6 for sure.

SWD that's what I meant with regards to watson, he wears out quickly so he was a non factor against Green Bay. Cooper played quite a bit in that game and at about 280 pounds he struggles against the run. He's been much better than I expected since we signed him but he's a tweener DE/DT and playing next to Dockett they're going to get blown up. That's why Green keeps saying getting Clancy back will help the run defense, it will allow him to play Watson in spurts, and pick and choose when they play Cooper.

Hayes is on pace for over 100 tackles this year and with all the problems this team has right now, he's been the one LB you can count on every week to play. The others are either inconistent, or banged up all the time.

If I were going to say any Card player looked like a guy who'd been using steroids and stopped, it'd be Dansby, I've been saying it since we drafted him that the reason Dansby fell on draft day in my opinion is NFL teams all assumed his weight at the combine and private workouts was "artificial" and that his history of injuries at Auburn would continue in the NFL.

Good post Russ. I agree Gabe was blowing hard. I have high hopes tho next year. Cooper made a bunch of plays but like you said since he is so light it was usually him running the guy down after a nice gain.

In games where the defense was playing together, Hayes has been outstanding. I was a critic of the guy, and while I'll still need to see him put together 16 games, I agree with Russ that he's not part of the problem.

I think that part of the problem against Green Bay was the fact that Pace and Huff were the guys next to him, and they get pushed around or overrun plays so often that Hayes very well may have been the only guy in the picture. Hayes can't stop the run by himself, and the players we put around him were not NFL caliber. Everyone has to be doing their job for sound run defense to work, and Green Bay has very very smart offensive personnel.

The Cards' refusal to find a decent WLB in free agency this season has been a disaster. They depended on Pace to develop into a useful player on the strong side and for Dansby to overcome a change of position on the other. You do not win the offseason by hoping that things happen the way you want them to.

If you want to bag on a player maybe it should be Okeafor, that guy has been a joke this year.

Agreed. Look at Huff and Okeafor, Pace before even commenting on Hayes. The guy has been a bright spot on D and has really impressed in most games.

Criticizing Hayes and praising Rolle? Rolle with all the expectations and hype is my biggest disappointment on defense.

We have problems. Don't believe Hayes is one of them.
