A healthy Sam Bradford is a very good QB. Key word is healthy though.
this is true... I still remember Cards fans being scared when he took the field for the lambs... but then he went down,...and he has continued to go down every season.
poor dude is snake bit I guess. But at this point it makes no sense to gamble he may somehow stay healthy as he gets older.

Teddy Bridgewater 'definitely' sees himself as starter
So what about Bridgewater?

The back-from-injury signal-caller told reporters Monday that he "definitely" sees himself as a starter in 2018, according to ESPN.com's Kevin Seifert. Bridgewater, though, acknowledged that such a role might have to happen somewhere other than Minnesota.

Bridgewater courageously returned this season from a devastating knee injury that wiped out his 2016 campaign. The former starter was essentially demoted during the playoffs, though, floating in the abyss behind Keenum and Bradford and calling the experience a "test of my character."

Bradford is the ultimate tease. Incredibly accurate and throws a beautiful ball but then he gets hit and is out for games if not the entire year.

if we get Bradford, then it is imperative we protect him. He's a cement food Qb, and a poor man's Palmer

He's like Jim Mcmahon, with a deep ball.

Bradford would be woeful unless we draft a QB in the 1st round.

Via @StarTribune If Bridgewater’s contract tolls because he was on the physically unable to perform list for six weeks, he’ll remain under contract with the Vikings for another year. If not, he’ll become an unrestricted free agent in March along with Case Keenum and Sam Bradford.

With the March looming and some murkiness around #Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater’s contract, he is expected to be a free agent, sources say. Minnesota is not planning to assert that his contract tolls and Bridgewater is proceeding as if he’s a free agent.

The greatest mystery of the FA QB class. Could be a steal, if the knee holds up.

I really wonder if he will get a contract written similar to Glennon in that whatever team that signs him can get out of it after a year in case of injury issues. I would expect it to be a richer contract though just because of the stupid money being thrown around.

Imo the Vikes letting all their QBs test FA tells me all I need to know about acquiring any of them. I didn’t really care for them anyway.

Plus I think they’re the front runners for Cousins.

Also imo, given our QB status (zero QBs on the roster) how can anyone here including our GM want to add a QB whom might not even be able to even play at a healthy level? The injury history & availability is just to great imo to rely on 1 of those 2 guys given there’s going to be a rookie on this roster as well. It’s ludicrous & asking for trouble if it happens.

An update on Teddy Bridgewater: Sources say the NFL Management Council has decided not to toll his contract for next year. He'll be a free agent on March 14, absent a new deal with the Vikings before then.

I think it says the Vikes see them as equal, all things considered, and that they dont think any of the three can get them over the hump.
It knocks Keenum the most since he is the only one without injury concerns

I agree to an extent.

Is Kennum worth the $24 mil tag or $20 mil/year? Absolutely freaking not! I still say it’s hard to give much $$$ or years to any QB or any player whom can’t stay on the field or has potential career ending leg injuries.

I just don`t see how anyone can knock Bridgewater`s QB play.He was 17-11 as a starting QB.He might not be the Mad Bomber (Daryle Lamonica) but he has enough arm to make the throws and he is a solid character person with a great work ethic. If he checks out okay physically he would be perfect in AZ.

You can knock it, because you have no idea if he will be the same player.

I will agree shortly before he got injured I thought Bridgewater was starting to play quite well, but it took him a while to get there, and he may never get back close to that level - see RG3.

He is a total gamble. Yes Bradford is a gamble also, but he was playing at a very high level in Minnesota before getting hurt again.

Keenum has not shown me anything really - he is not going to make plays out of nothing he is completely a system qb, quite frankly I don't see how what he did was much better than what Stanton did considering the weapons each had to work with.

Really, other than cousins, I think our only hope is getting lucky on our qb draft pick. There is a reason good qb's don't become free agents.

I agree. While I would like some team protection in the contract I think Teddy would be a great fit. Not only to help us transition to a rookie... but because Teddy is only 25...so he also has long term potential if his leg is indeed good

Too much risk in the biscuit for TB.

TB had a horrible non-contact injury. Going back to pass in practice, no one around, and tore his kneecap/leg so badly it was feared his leg would have to be amputated.

He's been with the Vikes since and they are aware of the medical risks and his potential to recover and are looking to cut him loose.

Pass on TB.
