Something that amazes me as I grow older is how self rightous and yet sensitive society has become in the US. I mean it truly amazes me how hypersensitive people have become.

Yes, but on the flip side, in my opinion, the topic at hand involves some serious insensitivity.

Stupid and potentially catostrophic but not racially motivated.

I am unsure why it would be scarier to an african american then to anyone else. I think we need to get over holding those of different races to different standards - today especially. Anything burning in anyones front lawn is a scary thing.

It's not like it was a cross burning. THAT would have been racially motivated and over the line.

It would be scarier to an African American homeowner because burning lawns is a common tactic that white supremacists still employ today. It turns out that it was just juvenile hijinx, but I'm sure that it created fear and alarm for his wife and his oldest child.

Since when did Chandler become so hip? McNabb lives there. Ice T lives there. Maybe it was Ice T that burned McNabb's lawn!

Perhaps we are simply becoming more aware of the effect that our actions have on others?

I understand that Edgerrin James lives two houses away from McNabb. Hmmmmmmm.

Nah.

I think some parents need to step in and apply some parenting skills to the seat of their pants.

I think an appropriate punishment would be being grounded from watching the Superbowl.

I was just checking out the neighborhood on maricopa.gov. Adrian Wilson and Coach Whiz live in the same community. Chike lives in the community across the street.

I'm such a stalker.

Classless.
Apparently a few of our new bandwagon fans finally gave up on the Raiders. :/

I have never heard of that (cross burning I have) and I guess I will just have to disagree with you. For what its worth I am half minority myself and I am trying to look at this from an overall POV.

I guess I am not as sensitive as most but my first thought was "Nice to see we have some fanatics too". You only hear about this kind of stuff with Philly/Detroit fan so it caught me off guard that a Cardinal fan cared enough topull a "prank" like this...

I don't see it as that big of a deal. I have toilet papered peoples house as a 12 year old and lit poop on fire in a bag as a gag at that age. Thats what kids do. Sure sometimes in a rare instance it could lead to something bigger (house burning down i guess) but I also think its crazy to make it a bigger deal then it is and say the parents need to be jailed and "whats wrong with society"....

Sometimes we make a bigger deal of things then is needed. This would seem to be the case here IMO.

#1) It was dangerous. There's a reason most people teach their children not to play with flammables.

#2) Those parents, or someone from the community, needs to sit those idiot kids down and give them a history lesson.

#3) Those idiots need to stand on McNabbs doorstep and apologize to him and his family.

#4) Those kids should be forced to repair his lawn themselves and pay for the materials themselves.

It wasn't funny. It wasn't a prank.

Of course somebody is going to turn this into a racial thing. It's not. If you are a Cardinal fan or ANY sports fan, you team has african /american players on it.
It was a stupid way to show support of our team. I would rather they stuck signs on his lawn.

The two nimrods should be cited and fined. I'd be pretty pissed if the ruined my lawn.

I think you are overreacting a tad to the point where its making me shake my head.

Thats just my opinion though. I'm sure this is the worst thing thats ever happened to anyone.

That makes it worse IMO but still not that big a deal. Childish and I would be pissed but s--- happens. Especially when you are the QB of the opposing team.

Its not like they abducted his kids or shaved his dog or something. Lets have a little perspective.
