What happened to using shaving cream and toilet paper? Burning stuff on someone's lawn?

It'd have been almost funny if they just spray painted the grass red with that or something but I agree it's just wrong to burn someone's lawn.

Oh right, good call. Black families all over the country go to bed every night fearing they are gonna wake up and see their yards on fire? Gimme a break. You act like the KKK is running rampant through the country. It's the oversensative far left wing white people that make this stuff a huge deal. The idiots were definitely wrong and should be punished accordinly because you dont destroy other peoples' property, but to call this a hate crime is absurd. A better definiteion would be a stupidity crime IMO.

If you read what I wrote carefully, you will find that that was not the point that I was making. Yours is an example of the logical fallacy of Appeal to ridicule (Link). What I wrote was that burning lawns is a tactic employed by white supremacists. I did not write that this practice was rampant. In fact, this kind of vandalism in general is rare. But there was a series of these lawn burnings that has been occurring, most notably Howard County Maryland, but others as well. I don't believe that black families go to bed fearing that they will be targets, but I am sure that when their lawn is burned, the thought crosses their minds. How could it not?

Somebody else made the point that just because gasoline (or diesel) was used, doesn't mean that it was ignited. That is a good point. That would seem to make the vandalism less alarming to the victims. Whatever the case, let's hope that Dumb and Dumber do not reflect the intelligence of average Cardinals fans, because, how stupid can you be to leave a box with your address label on it?

Take Note: The perpetrators have been caught and they are not kids or teens. One is 37 years old, and the other is in his 20's. The 37 year old was proudly wearing his Cardinal's cap for his booking photo. There has not been anything said yet about any connections to any hate group,---- but even if these are just ravenous Cards fans, this is WAY out of bounds and cannot be condoned in any manor. Cards fans MUST look at this and determine to ALWAYS act with class and dignity. We are not Chicago, Detroit, Boston, or Philadelphia. This is Arizona----where a person treats others with the same respect with which he would wish to be treated. My apologies to you Mr. McNabb. You and your family did not deserve this. Please be assured that the overwhelming majotity of your neighbors and fellow Arizonans are just as appalled at this as you are.

I call BS here. I live in Maryland and have no idea what "series" of events you are talking about in Howard County. I recall a cross-burning in Ellicot City a few years back, but IIRC it was an isolated incident. Do you a have a link?

Why would it? This isn't 1960. Your bleeding heart is getting in the way of your brain function. Lawn burnings and inbred rednecks that are the KKK are not things that the modern day black family fears IMO. The lawn wasn't even set afire, so I still dont get where you are going with this.
