Honestly, Skkorp, how many athletes use supplements that they know very little about--except that their doctor or personal trainer says to take? I'll bet most athletes fall under that same category, so it is absolutely pointless to turn this around. Any athlete could have the same thing happen to him.

Is any one really sure that googs still has a trade kicker since his original contract has expired? I guess it would depend on how the language was written in his original contract!

Actually, I believe his contract is 6 years, $58.5 million with a player's option for the last year (2003-04). In other words I don't think his original contract has expired.

googs has a player option for this yearn right? so moving him would free up some space, but keeping him would give us a lot with penny and his contracts in the next year or so.

so what if he doesn't take the option?(not likley) do we now have 11 million to "technically" spend? that could make things interesting. wishful thinking probably.

This was discussed at great length before. Some people, including me, thought there was a decent chance that Gugliotta would "do the right thing" and at least accept a buyout. Other people insisted that there was no way Gugliotta would give up a dime.

Shortly after the season ended, Gugliotta said in an interview that he would take his option, and he laughed off suggestions to the contrary as absurd. So I was wrong on this one.

do we now have 11 million to "technically" spend?

No, but if Gugliotta were to decline his option, the Suns would be able to use their median exception (about $4.5 million) without going into luxury tax range -- or at least not far into the range. As it is, every FA they add will mean increasing their luxury tax burden, which is exactly why the Suns figure to be very quiet on the FA market this summer.

Thanks a lot, Googs.

thanks,

if he stays, i hope he can contribute. if he can come of the bench hot some jumpers play a little d, we will be a pretty effective team. amare is our man now. the best googs can be is a backup power forwad or a small center. i wish for the bets for him, but would welcome any trades. we did pretty good with little production from him this year. i wonder if we can get something done.

if we draft big, we have bo, the daft pick, little jake that can all play power forward. not to mention the starter amare. the nba is a business, and googs unfortunate ability to preform, has left him out of the job market.

I would hope that Googs would not take his option but would take a two or three year deal for the same amount. I like Googs but he needs to realize he is not worth that much, if he like playing in PHX then take the longer contract. If he takes his option I would expect him to roat the bench and he will be my biggest disliked Ex-Sun next to Horry.
