I just saw it again on Inside the NFL. Dockett was freaking MAN-HANDLED. Held back so tight by both defenders it's almost criminal.

You play Darnell fairly, Gore's stopped for a 5 yard gain, no more.

An absolute B.S. non-call by the officials.

Eh, you play the game how it's officiated. Dockett being held doesn't excuse the other 10 players for not making a play.

Wasn't there a thread last year that talked about lower profile games getting the less efficient officiating crews? There weren't that many penalties in the game but many of the calls/non-calls were very blatant. Not as bad as the Rivers call in the San Diego game. He was clearly over the LOS when he threw the ball, they got it wrong, it was reviewed and they got it wrong again! Then SD threw a long TD on the next play that should have been a punt. Panthers stuck it to them in the end though. Carolina, once Jake gets back into rhythm completely, will be pretty good this year.

Players like Rolle and Hayes holding hands, and talking about there plans for Monday as Gore ran past them ?

:D - Of course that is a bitter man talking there. It was a good run by Gore, I don't see any BLATANT hold, and our players just got caught in bad positions.

Rolle caused this. Although your right.... We don't deserve calls like this. In the end though, the calls usually seem to even out.

Rolle's over pursuit, then slipping to the turf, made it a walk in the park for Gore.

Goes both ways guys - The Niners had a questionable call that drastically altered the game too (Roughing the passer).

Good teams overcome those things - even Amaerica darlings like the Cowboys have calls go against them. Thats why you have to be good enough to reduce that margin for error.

Yeah that's a clear hold but they missed an even worse one later in the game on a play where O'Sullivan ran out of the pocket and out of bounds. Darnell was being held by one blocker which allowed JT to get outside, and then when Darnell went to pursue him, another OL just tackled Darnell.

He got up screaming at the ref and I was quite concerned the old dockett would rear it's ugly head and get a personal foul but he didn't. He's maturing.

What strikes me as funny is the Gore only rushed for a total of 97 yards right? I know that is basically a one half total, but that really is not that much, if we look at what a good rushing day vs. the Cards used to be.

Does that make any sense?

Two hands hit Warner's helmet. That is an easy call to make 100% of the time.

dont think so

the Cards / Niners game got Gene Steretore as an official, and he is one of the best

those interior runs, that call is probably easy to miss--

its funny (funny now that the Cards won) -- that is a double hold-- the lineman has him around the arm, and Vernon Davis is grabbing the inside of the pads

Someone is manhandled or held on every single play.

No, because you have to remember they didn't even sniff the field in the second half.

Admittedly, it's hard to see everything going on at the LOS, but every time I watched the replay, it seemed to me that 9 out of our 11 guys on the field were wearing jersey numbers in the 20's or 30's.

Where were our D-lineman (besides Dockett)?

Any of you oldtimers who remember LaMont Kranston and The Shadow might be willing to concede on that play -that our D-line of being able "to cloud mens' minds so they could not see them."

Discipline in your assigned lane, anything less than that you have guys like Gore catching the ball as a safety valve and making a long gainer out of it. We are still maturing as a team and can only get better defensively.

Needless to say there was alot of bitching from Niner fans about that call as they said it was incidental and his hands were coming down. Could have been no called just like the hold and no one would have said a thing.

Thems the breaks

There is no incidental two hands to the QBs helmet. It is an automatic penalty. No judgement involved, AT ALL.
