Yep. Its about the rebounding. Lopez has improved some and Gortat has dropped a little.

Gortat has regressed. He isn't as aggressive anymore. Maybe it happens when you wear the Suns uniform.

Lopez has a higher PER than anyone on the Suns this season.

It happens when you lose hope of winning anything important.

He's been regressing since he came here. His first year was great, he had something to prove and did.

Ever since he's slowly declined. It just didn't happen once it was proven that we sucked.

I think it did. The first couple of weeks this season he was playing like one of the best big men in the league. He was a little inconsistent on offense but he was tremendous on defense. When it became apparent that we had no shooting guard and Beasley was a black hole, his game steadily declined. I also blame some of it on his offseason workouts with other big men. For some reason, he decided he was a skilled offensive player with a plethora of moves. Unfortunately, all he had was the moves, the shot that should have accompanied all those trick steps just wasn't there.

I was disappointed when Gortat defined his persona more with layups and finger rolls on offense than power moves.

Despite his good defense and shot blocking to start the season, he just didn't personify the picture of power that you expect from your Center, for whatever reason.

Refs pick up on that and even carry it over from offense to defense.

I never bought into the idea that Gortat was that dependent on Nash but I now believe that he himself did believe it once the season got under way - at least he missed those lovely feeds a lot. After not too long he could see, like the rest of us, that the Suns were not going anywhere with bleak prospects so he decided there was no reason to commit to them. Ever since then he's been biding his time, waiting for his big payday somewhere else. It was probably a bid idea because he's damaged his value with his poor play but he'll still get a good chunk of change. We may not get much out of him though.
