With no Suns in the playoffs I probably won't watch much. I gotta pull for the Bulls, but other than that I will probably only watch the fourth quarters of games and that's if it's close.

Spurs are brittle and could get "upset" in any round.
Portland over Dallas might happen.
I think OKC makes it past the first, but Denver will be real good next year.

In the East, maybe NY over Boston? That's the best matchup in the East, IMO but some will say Atlanta/Orlando.

i really want to watch the ny and boston games. also rooting for the bulls, first round will be easy for them.
although 76ers have lost i think all 3 games to heat, they have been playing better as of late and i would dream of an upset over the heat, dont we all.

in the west, 3 of 4 imo are good matchups. i think the hornets-lakers series is done, lakers of course.

The Lakers in the first round might be facing. . . CHICKEN POX!!

Oh, now THAT is precious. After all those years when the Lakers seemed to always get the breaks. That would be wonderful.

Aside from this you have to think the Lakers are PRIME for an upset at some point in the finals if Bynum is hobbled through the playoffs.

The Lakers were a different team with a healthy Bynum. When Bynum is playing hurt he is not the same player.

unfortunately, he's not supposed to be that injured... and with their first round bye, they can afford to give him limited minutes (or even entire games off) before they have to face... Dallas... who they can probably beat without Bynum and their eyes closed.

damn... they were soooooooo close to disaster in those last two games... first it looks like Bynum's screwed (then he's not)... THEN it looks like they have one of the most epic last game of the season collapses booting them out of the 2 seed, having to face a tough Portland team before then having to go on the road to play Dallas... and then the Kings go UNDER the screen. idiots.

Yeah I went to bed before the lakers/sacto game thinking that there was no way in hell the lakers would lose. then I heard about that play. it doesn't surprise me. the kings are a young team. over the last few years they have lost a lot of close games like that.

I think this year's playoffs could be the best ever. While earlier in the year it appeared to be a 4 team race, late in the year the bottom teams came on strong and the top teams all looked surprisingly weak. The lakers, spurs, and mavs all limped into the playoffs looking very beatable. how the mavs almost won the #2 seed by default just proves that the lakers are not immune to some worries. Now bynum's health is in question? Even dirk publically stated that they pretty much had to settle for the 3 seed just a day or two after they lost that ugly game in LA. So I'm not completely sold that the lakers don't have some concerns.

as far as the upset special? most are picking portland to beat dallas and I understand why. however, i really wouldn't consider that an upset. If over half of the critics are picking the underdog(by the seed) then it isn't a real upset. You aren't going to win a lot of money in vegas with that one. that's more of a trend right now.

the only true safe bet in the west first round are the lakers(with or without bynum). From there every series could be really interesting. no one is really talking about manu's health. if he is out the grizzlies can legitmately beat the spurs. they have always notoriously lost to playoff teams when one of their big three is gone(or not 100%). In fact memphis is 2-2 against them this year because of this.

from there I would say don't sleep on denver beating the thunder. denver is kind of the no name stepchild team that gets no respect because they don't have a star, but they have a great coach and have been playing great ball over the last couple of months. in fact they finished with a top record when you go back the last 20+ games. When you look at this series, OKC is still young and everyone is jumping on their wagon to make a run. Remember...early in the year they struggled to deal with all of the pressure of expectations. In a game earlier in the year where dirk went down in the first quarter, the mavs still beat them in OKC. I know they have perk now, but this could be a team that struggles in the playoffs and is prime for an upset against a team like denver that i guarantee you is feeling disrespected and overlooked. Hell you already have experts picking OKC as the team that might beat LAL, so I guarantee george karl is throwing gas on that fire. the nuggets are solid.

Way to choke that one away Pacers.

It'll be interesting to see if they go into the tank after this one.

yeah. i feel bad for larry bird, but at least he has his rings to go home to. they really let one get away. tough to lose like that when you are the underdog. I can't believe that the korver 3 was the first time they led. indiana would always hit a big shot to stop the bulls runs, but they couldn't get one in the end when it mattered most. hansborough looked good, but they stopped going to him.

philly leading early over the heat. so far it looks like we are in for some exciting first round series. hopefully much better than recent years.

mark jackson just made a great point about chicago. if rose has to make every play like that for them to win in the playoffs....they are going to struggle moving forward.

yeah its going to be interesting how the pacers respond. most likely they'll get blown out the next game. pacers just didnt execute in the final minutes and needed someone to step up bigtime. the pacer gaurds did well, but arent bigtime players/closers imo. granger should have had the opportunity i think.

Horrible game from Gasol amongst others is probably the main reason for this upset.. I wonder can the Hornets take this even further?

Gasol can't play that poorly 3 more times.

Unlike SAS v MEM, the Lakers are in good shape because the matchups aren't good for New Orleans.

I would love an upset in this series but i agree with Donald, i just don't see how NO can upset LA. They do need to find an answer for Paul; 33pts, 14ast, 7rbd! Wow!

Lovin the upsets today, awesome. There could be a "changing of the gaurd" in the West should LA and SA go down.

And with the Suns out, its great to cheer for Amare, go Knicks! Nice to see them up on the Celtics at the half, let's hope that holds!
