OKC ain't sweeping the Grizz. No way in hell.

Celtics maybe going 7. Lakers are too lazy to close out Dallas in 5 but might just catch a wild hair and want to destroy them.

i'm really pulling for a Heat-Mavs final. I think that would be an epic 7 game series.

That's probably how it's going to end up.

I'll be rooting for the Mavs for three reasons:

1) I always root for the team from the West.

2) To show the league that the Heat couldn't pre-arrange a championship.

3) Maybe the rest of the Suns' owners will say, "Hey if our perpetual 50-and-fade compadres can do it, so can we.", and give The Foam Finger to The Foam Finger. :)

I also say Mavs/Lakers. Mavs are my second favorite team in West after Phoenix and I'd like to see Nowitzki go off on Miami to win the championship. It's about time Dirk gets a ring.

Yes, I've already picked the Mavs to win the Championship as I predicted in the "2011 NBA Playoffs Thread." Also I do not consider it would be that much of an upset.

Mavs do not make me look bad.

this reminds of the USC vs Texas buildup when the media is just crowning one team before the games are even played. that just means the king is going to fall harder if he does.

I will be the first to admit that I am biased as a mavs fan. But I think a lot of people are just simply dismissing the mavericks and their abilities because of all of the hype that is brewing in south beach. I still contend that this miami heat team has some flaws that can be exposed by dallas. I don't know, may udonis haslem solved a lot of problems, but he has his work cut out for him now trying to guard nowitzki.

If this turns into the halfcourt lebron show...dallas wins this series sooner than people think. miami have to get some support from their teammates(and more than what I've seen against inferior teams thus far). dallas can play defense and they can score in a lot of different ways compared to the teams that miami has faced. they can talk about running guys off the jump shot all they want to, but talking and doing are two different things when you have a versatile team like dallas that can score inside and out and from a lot of different players.

If they win the title I will gladly say that I'm wrong and it will be good for the NBA to see lebron win a ring. If dirk can't win one and nash can't win one the next guy I would pull for would be lebron because he is great.

I'm torn on this one. Both teams need the title really bad because they have something to prove. Dallas has to prove that they aren't playoff faliures (plus their window will be closed much sooner than the Heats), and Miami has to prove that they can do what they said they can.

But I see Miami as clear favorites here. I can't see Dallas winning 4 games unless:
a) Marion has stellar games
b) Terry knocks down every open shot
c) Kidd rediscovers his youth

Ofcourse, I expect Nowitzki to be Nowitzki all the way too.

Miami has 3 excellent scoring options, so even if they go on a bad shooting streak, they can get out of it easily, call a timeout, switch things around a bit, and on they go. That will be the case unless: d) Miami completely implodes

Having said all that, I call Dallas makes an upset. If they do, it would be a great story of teamwork overcoming individual superstardom.

the thing working for dallas is that they have multiple guys that can score in different ways. outside of dirk they don't have one guy that has to have the big game. Oddly in dirk's two games of the playoffs that he scored -20 pts the mavericks led the entire games. the LA blowout and the game 3 blowout against OKC.

they have jump shooters, but they have guys who can score in the paint as well. and they did it against the likes of the lakers who are a much bigger team. they will have to show the same versatility against the heat. what the heat lack in size, they make up for in speed. so dallas has to be able to score both inside and out to win this series. if they become one dimensional then they will lose because miami's defense is talented enough to key in on that.
