I will just say...I do not respect the Rams because no matter what problems we have, we can still punk their arse in their own house LOL

Not for long...this Rams team under Jeff Fisher is going to be very very good---possibly right away. The NFC West is going to be the new Black and Blue division. Good news is the Cardinals have been making positive strides to get tougher all the way around.

So does everyone still think the Rams are kicking our ass in this draft?

Yep. I thought last year they were going to be damn good, and they had a trainwreck of a season. So yeah, they need to prove it with wins.

I actually don't have a problem with our division moving up the pecking order. I'm tired of it being crapped on and overlooked. I think the rivalries that have developed are as intense as any other division of the NFL.

Sorry, but I think the Rams blew a golden opportunity to hit a grand slam in this draft. I think they got just a tad bit too cute trading down & it cost them "game changers". They had some nice picks, but they had reaches everywhere. They settled for quantity at the expense of quality. If it's true that they rated Quick higher than Floyd, then they have problems that they will NEVER overcome!!! They got fleeced by the Cowboys & the Jags, Cardinals, and Niners all beat them to the punch for the game changing WR that they so desperately needed. They drafted a run stuffing DT, when it's obvious that the NFCW will be a pass oriented division for years to come. The Niners are transitioning as we speak. Do you really think that Harbaugh wants that ugly offense they've had the last few years! Fisher brings an OK resume to this team, but he's not very innovative & THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT THE RAMS FRANCHISE NEEDS.

I will just say this " when you are picking in the top 5 every year then every position is a need. The Rams did a great job getting more draft picks. They have a lot holes to fill. Last season the Rams had 8 cb on injuried resevers. They got great value with the two cb they pick and wr that they pick. They instanly improved their team. Only a blind man would say that they didn't.

The Rams FO is clearly superior to everyone else in the NFCW. They are building a contender. theyre playing chess while we're all playing checkers.
Read Gary Myers' piece in the NY Daily News today where he takes the Ram FO thru the painful process of not getting any of the 6 players commonly considered to be elite - despite starting out in the #2 slot.

He describes Jeff Fisher slamming his glasses on the conference table upon learning that another team leapfrogged the Rams into the 5-slot to steal Blackmon from under his nose. (That's why he traded down from #6).

I still can't figure out why people overrate Fisher so much. He has one more post season win than Whisenhunt in a lot more seasons and he keeps Dave MacGinnis on his staff.

He may not be Norv Turner but he sure isn't Belichek or Coughlin either.

Hey guys. I'm a Rams fan and I just wanted to point out some bad info in this thread.

1) While the Rams liked Michael Floyd, Michael Brockers was the actual target of the trade down. Not Floyd. Not sure if anyone noticed, but the Rams got rid of their top 3 DTs this offseason (Robbins, Bannan, Gibson). Even over Fletcher Cox whom is a far better fit for the 3-Tech position the team signed Kendall Langford to play.

2) Gary Myers doesn't realize that the Rams weren't as high on Morris Claiborne as others because of he isn't physical enough for Jeff Fisher's defense. Fisher wants and needs them like Finnegan. Not Cromartie.

3) On that note, Dallas didn't really fleece the Rams because the Rams didn't want Claiborne, the Rams originated the deal, and they pretty got close to draft chart value for the selection. And they still got their guy once Richardson and Blackmon came off the board.

4) Michael Brockers is a run stuffing DT now. But, the hope is that DLine coach Mike Wauffle can develop him into more of a pass rusher like he has with so many in the past. Note: See Tommy Kelly and Fred Robbins pre-Wauffle.

Carry on.:)

hey hot sauce, I think the Rams should avoid drafting DTs in the future, they do not seem to be that accurate evaluating them from recent history...sort of like us with QBs :)

Because he won 10 games or more once every 3 years and did it in the same division with Peyton Manning. Fisher is basically a .500 coach. 7-9 or 8-8 almost half his seasons in Tenn. but his teams are competitive and he's a guy the media and fans take too.

What do you know a Rams fan with useful information. Seriously I did not know that that makes your pick not near as bad as I originally thought. Not that he's a bad player I just thought you really needed to help the offense before Bradford gets killed, and Stephen Jackson gets old.

Jackson is already showing signs of aging & Bradford may not emotionally recover if he has to endure another season like last year.

This may sound just as crazy because picking Floyd at six is definitely early but I thought the Rams should have stayed and made sure they improved their offense for the reasons you mention above. I've seen a lot of good quarterbacks go downhill with what he has been forced to work with. With a rookie salary cap and the need to take care of their franchise quarterback I don't think taking him early in their particular situation would have been a bad idea. Not to mention it would take some heat off Stephen Jackson. But I also did not know they lost three of their starting defensive lineman. I'm assuming the guy is telling the truth I don't know for a fact.
