I've read where some of you think that this current SUNS roster will win 50 games and wind up with a 4,5 seed(health permitted).
I'm sorry but there is NO WAY this squad wins 50 games.
Basically we got a year older and even worse defensively.
Teams are gonna light the SUNS up for 120ppg next year. Horrible offseason in the name of flexability. I can't wait to hear the excuses for not blowing this thing up next year too....yeah, thank goodness the NFL is getting revved up. As a RAMS fan i may not see many victories next year but at least they had the sense to blow it up and rebuild, cut ties with their aging vets from the glory years and move TF on.
This franchise has become a joke.
Pass the kool-aid, i'm thirsty.
I think you're way off base with your hatred.
This team wasn't horrible after Gentry took over. Everyone forgets that Amare was out for all but one game while Gentry was coach. LB was out for a while too.
I think the problem is that people look at how our year ended and automatically think that's how we will be come October. That just isn't the case. Will we be better? Nobody really knows, but with a healthy Amare and Alvin Gentry at the helm, I would think the odds aren't that awful.
It was such and up and down year last year, everyone expected the team to just automatically become one of the elite after Porter left, but I think the problem was that it took Steve Nash too much time to get his mindset back of what he is comfortable with.
Defensively, we won't be that good, but we've NEVER been that great defensively, even when we were a top 3 team in the league a few years ago. Will age catch up to us? That's certainly a possibility, but Grant Hill had his first full year as an NBA player last season--I don't see why he can't approach that again this coming year.
