Look at the final scores of recent weeks. We see 41,37,35,45,42,43....even the losing teams are scoring in the 30's. It was the first of many Kiem mistakes this year. Really baffles me why we wouldn't have made a pitch for Josh Gordon with this pathetic corp of WR's.

I'm looking forward to seeing what could only be subtle changes in the offense now that Leftwich is taking over but boy do I feel sorry for him. It's like playing 5 card stud with just 3 cards.

Personally I think you build a great offense & a mediocre defense and you’ve got a chance to contend.

Imo that’s where NFL football is going these days because of the rules.

Why is the Cardinals not going after Josh Gordon baffling? They did not want the headache that he presented, and did not believe they woul dbe competing this year, so why give up a pick?

It is about balance and identity. You need an offense that has multiple weapons and can do multiple things. You need a defense that can pressure the QB, get turnovers, and is good in the red zone.

Dude let it go. The guy had a great season 5 freaking years ago.

The very last thing you do when your not winning is add low charecter guys.

He is playing and a better WR than a guy named Larry on our team. Us not even considering him speaks volumes

Because he was a low risk high reward. Very unlikely we wuld pick up a receiver of his ceiling in the 5th or 6th round next year. He could have been a big body receiver for years to come. If he didn't it still would have been worth the risk. Just the fact that the Patriots got him should tell you something.

Yep. Like he would ruin this locker room. It's not like we would have given up a 2nd round pick. But I guess Chad Williams will fill the void.

You ALWAYS hire an offensive minded HC. Especially, in today’s NFL. Michael is a moron.

Your right let's take the guys who hasn't played in 5 years over a first ballot hall of famer because of a few games.

How are you not a GM

Any other year, and I would totally agree with you... This team already had a level 3 migraine.... What more harm could a little excedrin level headache have caused?

The new rules make this into Arena League football.

I like defense but the posters who say it's too late for all that are right. At best you can have a dominant player or two on defense.

Two stud rushers, two stud CB's and on stud LBer with the rest average would be a great defense.

More likely you'll only get about half that and still have to hope the rest is average.

So on offense you need a RB, TE, QB, and two stud linemen with at least one elite WR.

That's bear minimum, probably need two elite WR's but one elite and two good possesion WR's with a great TE works good too.

Then it's a pinball machine to the finish.

Just the way the rules are.

Even the supposedly elite defenses are leaking points, especially to above average offenses. But even slightly below average offenses put up 30 on good defenses these days. The era of the elite defense, like some units we used to see over the years, is over. If you can keep opponents around 20 points, you already have a good defense. Unless your opponents are the Cardinals or Bills.
