This thread is not intended to be about what game or on-field event was your greatest moment but what you personally have done supporting your team.

Several years ago before a NY Giants game I was 'gating with one of the end-zonies, the guy who drove the old yellow truck with the Arizona flag painted on the door, in the parking lot across from Fumbles. While we were talking a NY Giants fan drives up in a convertible with music blaring, the back seat full of food and beer and Giant nonsense all over his car.

Of course we couldn't have this guy parking next to us so after a long and heated conversation we convinced him the lot was reserved for Cardinal season ticket holders and tricked him into to leaving saving that prime parking spot for another Cardinal fan.

I've told this story many times, but back in 1988 I was a member of the Dallas Cowboys Band - the horn and rhythm section group that played in the stands and backed up the Cheerleaders. During the Cardinals game (everyone in the band knew I was a Cards fan), the Cowboys were getting killed, and the Cardinals scored in the endzone closest to us. With the directors' back turned, I jumped up and screamed as loud as I could, the Cardinals player (don't remember who it was) looked at me and screamed back while holding up the ball to me.

The director never saw it, so I wasn't fired. However, the whole thing made SportsCenter, although you really couldn't see me in the shot.

An oft' told story as well -

Several years back, I took the epic journey from NJ to Tempe to join guys like PDon, Maddjak, Bill Price, Carl P, Reino, Zeno, SBNetsport and others for a night-before dinner and then attend the game with Dallas (aka Team Felon). The strategy (thought up by Dave Baker) was to fill the seats with Cardinal fans and "take back our stadium" from Felon fans. So we all came from near & far. The game was the one where Butthead hit the bankshot in OT to win it for the Cardinals and the goal posts came down.

I was bathed in sweat but didn't change clothes for the plane ride back (Buddy Ryan plantation hat, cargo shorts, Cardinal T and sandals). I figured no one on board would care since it was a red-eye flight. I didn't realize, however, that at the layover in Detroit, roughly 20 "suits" from the auto industry boarded the plane (probably to visit ad agencies in NYC). Imagine their surprise to see this "homeless-looking person" stretched across two seats on the plane.

Everyone at the dinner autographed a bunch of FB Cardinal baseball hats. To this day, mine sits in my office on the head of a bust of my late grandfather.

Every week when I go to either the Redskin's or Ravens game in full cardinals attire.

So has anything interesting ever happened?

Before Direct TV when I'd go to the sports bars to watch the Cards the opposing fans would usually feel sorry for my son and I and buy drinks for us.

At Dallas one year three very large women sat right behind us and kept saying to me every time the Cards would pull one of their usual bonehead moves "its alright honey" as they drank from a communal flask.

I've received more abuse at SDS from opposing fans than i ever have at an away game or sports bar. :D

During a Cardinals Game?

That is easy. Picking up Boldin in my fantasy league (I've heard a lot about....) and starting him while he racks up a 200 yard game. I gave ASFN the credit for the event. I think Boldin became the most "picked up player" in week 2 of that season.

Best moment since being a fan ?

Going down to Texas to watch the Cardinals play live at Reliant and meeting up with fellow ASFN'ers.

I was at the Mansion House in St. Louis where a big party was going on and there were a bunch of the Cards players there. One of the OL took a pool cue into the bathroom and when he went to leave the bathroom, he was carrying the stick vertically. He kept banging into the doorframe with his pool cue until I got him to turn it horizontal and lean it forward.

Who knows? He might have still been trying to get out of there if it hadn't of been for me.:D

During college I was the only freshman who got up at 10 am on sunday morning and put on my jersey (simeon rice) and walked 1.5 miles to the RTA train.....then took a 45 minute train by myself to downtown to sit in a BW-3 and watch the games....no drinking. Occasionaly i'd have something to eat but I would just sit there and watch the cards, solo. I remember watching the game where the cardss went down 28-0 then stormed back to ALMOST ( GRRR) tie dallas at 35......

Funniest part was my jersey said 79...not 97. My mom got it for me and I was proud to wear it regardless. I think it obviously was some kind of mis-print. Later upgraded to a AUTHENTIC plummer...very nice

But man o man where there some crappy drives home on that train. Darkness.....no talking....blleecchh.

My greatest Card moment was attending a Card/Eagle game in Veteran Stadium in Philly. The Cards scored early and often, I got so excited that I kept leaping to my feet and yelling while the fans around me told me to sit down. My crowning moment came when some drunk behind me through a glass bottle of beer, that's what they sold in those days, at me, and hit the fan in front of me square on the head. It knocked him cold and I got the satisfaction of watching the stadium guards arrest some Eagle fans and carry the injured fan away on a stretcher. I had a clear view of game from then on only I didn't stand up and cheer as much.

You sure picked a great game to go to but meeting other Cardinal fans is cool no matter what the result of the game.

The long history of losing has caused us die-hards to feel like we're family.

Sitting in my house where most of my family is cowboy fans (mom is from tejas) and cheering for the Cards loudly as they beat the 'Boys in the playoffs, deflecting icy glares from relatives.

December 28, 1998: The Cardinals had made the playoffs, so I called the Dallas Cowboys ticket office to buy two tickets to the game. Dallas season ticket holders were so apathetic that year, it took until Saturday night to sell the game out.

Friday, January 1: A half hour into the new year, my father and I hit the road toward Dallas.

Sunday, January 3: As we near the stadium, Brad Sham, calling the game for Dallas starts musing as to how the game will go the next week after Dallas beats Arizona. We enter the stadium on a very windy day; I'm wearing my Adrian Murrell jersey. Surrounded by Cowboys fans, I go crazy when the Cardinals open up the scoring. Chided by those fans, I let them know that I'll take the ups when I can get them. As the fourth quarter wanes, a pair of Cowboys fans leave murmuring, "Well I guess you're happy."

Yes I was.

By the way, the photo in my avatar is from the next week at the Mall of America.

A GREAT moment but that doesn't qualify. Helping carry the goal posts out of the stadium would.

I remember jstadvl getting an opposing player so worked up the guy stopped and shot dvl the bird. Now that's a great fan moment.

Second for me was sitting at the cold ass giants game in the sleet/hail/freezing weather when they served hot chocolate in the stands. And staying until the end.

Week 14, 1998. We needed the win for the playoffs, and we lost 23-19. We went on to win the last three games. I was at the other home games too, but that cold-ass, wet and miserable game still stands out in my mind. It is one of my more fond football memories...being a fan in real "football weather."

That was weird weather for a Carinal game. Like you, a lot of people still talk about it.

I was working as a bar tender in 1997. Although not a sports bar, we had several TV's on the Cardinal/Cowboys game at SDS (night game).

Other than me and a couple of very obnoxious Cowboy fans, no one was much interested in the game. I was enjoying a heathly back-and-forth banter with them, and as the game wore on, more and more people started getting into it.

By the time the game went into OT, everyone, exept for the three Cowboy fans were totally cheering on the Cards and giving these Cowboy fans a hard time.

The Cards won the game, fans at the stadium tore down the goal-posts, and the three Cowboy fans were summarily booed out of the place.

Although I was the only Card fan in the building at the start of the game, I've never seen the Cards get the frenzied support they ultimately did on that night.

Go Cards!!!

I've been at a Phx sports bar where only one little tv had the Cards game on - i forget who they were playing.
As usual, the Cards were down.
As the 2nd 1/2 wore on, the Cards start coming back.
The people wearing all these other team's jerseys start watching the Cards game, tv's switch over, the crowd starts rooting for the Cards, the Cards lose in the last seconds, everyone groans, the tv's switch back.
This town is ready to GO OFF with support for the Cards, but the average frontrunning, bandwagon jumping "fan" needs to see some success before they'll get on board.

LOL! Given your location it wasn't that they were cheering on the Cardinals, but rather rooting against the Cowboys.

There are many, many Cowboys haters out there who like me have two favorite teams, their main team and who ever is playing against the 'Pukes!

Three cheers for ABC*!!!!

Remember the commercial a few years back when the dolphins fan goes nuts when they score against the eagles, and he's in the bar that caters to the other team's fans? Might have the teams backwards, but anyways...

I was "that guy" back in week 4, 2001 at a local DC sports bar. Philly scores late at home and they're up 20-14 with a couple minutes to go in the 4th. I'd been taking crap all day because I was the the lone Cards fan and I had on my Plummer jersey. Sitting in a sea of Eagles fans, I finally started talking back after we lost the lead and I said to all of them "you gave Plummer too much time!"

So we start driving down the field and all these Eagles fans start hanging their heads, some of them are looking at me with nasty jeers and when Martay caught the TD I jumped out of my seat, arms up and just started going nuts!

I didn't stick around long after the game.
