oh man i forgot about this one....

My senior year the cards were playing the raiders in Oakland. One of my roomates was a huge, proud, cocky raider fan. He always made fun of my faith to the cards. Well i told the rest of my roomates that if AND when the cards beat oakland I will get a keg of pabst from the distributor that next day...... remember now....this is the year oakland went to the Super Bowl .....

I was hammered at a bar with friends....got the plummer jersey on...waited through all the early games to see my team put on the jumbo screen.....then OVERTIME...!!! PLUMMER STEPS BACK AND FIRES TO BOSTON! BOSTON SHAKES WOODSON OUT OF HIS JOCK AND HE'S GOING TO SCORE!!!!!

I lept in the air and scream bloody murder!!! What a play! What a game....

When I came home....i kept singing the "are you ready for some football" song right in my boys face.....all night long!

I did I look smart there.....

LOL! Given your location it wasn't that they were cheering on the Cardinals, but rather rooting against the Cowboys.

There are many, many Cowboys haters out there who like me have two favorite teams, their main team and who ever is playing against the 'Pukes!

Three cheers for ABC*!!!!

*Anybody But Cowboys. :billthecat:

I have not doubt that was the case, but for a brief moment in time, in a small bar in Virginia, Cardinal Nation was rocking!!!

My favorite moment to date will be this year either when we beat the Deadskins or Ravens and I am there to see it. It is gonna be soooooooo beautifull. I have been waiting years for them to come back to town and I am pulling out all the stops this time. I will be at both stadiums by 8 or 9am tailgating like never before. I'm talking kegs in the truck, steaks and corn on the cob on the grill. I cant wait.

Make a sign that says CARDS TRUMP REDSKINS to hold up if we win. Donald Trump and Snyder hate each other.

Not really. The ravens game will be worse. Reguardless, I will be like 6 or 7 deep at both games and me and my buddies are bad men. Feel free to come hook up with us if you like. Shoot me a PM prior to the game and I will let you know what parking lot we will be starting out in. I am ordering a huge Cards flag and am gonna attach it to the top of my pool cleaning pole and it will be waving high brigh and early. I shouldn't be hard to spot.

Watching the Cardinals beat the Cowboys in the playoffs. I watched with a friend who is a Boys fan, which made it sweeter.

I was at the Cards v Skins game in DC 1998 when we barely held on to win 45-42. Everyone was more than nice to me, but then again the skins were 1-7 at the time, so they were pretty beaten down already.

I went back again in 01, but it was such a nasty day (freezing rain) that it was pretty empty in the stands. Week 17, end the season on a crappy loss. The metro ride back to my truck SUCKED though as the arseholes kept signing "hail to the redskins" over and over and over and...

We couldn't beat Tony Banks that day. And if we would have won, we'd have finished 8-8. Sucks how much of an accomplisment that would have been...

Second for me was sitting at the cold ass giants game in the sleet/hail/freezing weather when they served hot chocolate in the stands. And staying until the end.

Week 14, 1998. We needed the win for the playoffs, and we lost 23-19. We went on to win the last three games. I was at the other home games too, but that cold-ass, wet and miserable game still stands out in my mind. It is one of my more fond football memories...being a fan in real "football weather."

Coldest game ever. I damn near froze at that game with nothing more than a jersey on and a light jacket. The worst part was that the Hot Chocolate ran out way before the game was over.

My favorite moment as a Cardinal fan was when we beat the Cowboys and the fans rushed the field. They then proceded to tear down the goal posts and paraded them down Mill Ave.

Cool, but I was looking for something you've done besides attending a game that was a big win for the Cars. You know, like run over a Cowboys fan on the 101 with your Lambo on the way to a game.

As A long time Cardinal fan, I was living in NJ at the time. Went to Yankee Stadium to see Cards and Giants game, after the games they would allow the fans to walk across the field (early 60's) to exit the Stadium. A long story short I walked up to John David Crow and Bobby Joe Conrad and shook hands with them. What a thrill that was! Damm that was a long time ago WOW!

Speaking of Stout there's another great moment for Carinal fans. Three years ago when we all pitched in to get Stout to the Patriots game and the big guy got to help carry the huge flag out onto the field.

Good times.

I was also at that game with my wife. I think we were given something like 18 tickets from people that couldn't go to the game.

My wife was furious that I made her stay until the end of the game. Come to think of it, I don't think she ever went with me to another game.

Go Cards!!!

I wish I'd thought of that.

i was at that game too! the funny thing about is that the temperature that afternoon was 42 degrees for a high. it was misty and freaking cold! i lived in phx for 6 years, and that was BY FAR the coldest day during my time.

funny to think i've been both sitting by myself in a completely empty upper deck section of SDS baking in 112 degrees on metal bleachers -- and then i've been huddled with people on the lower level drinking hot cocoa in tempe in 42 degrees.

thanks for a great memory!

I was in attendance for both those games with my son (Cardsfanmd). The '98 game was incredible because the Cardinals scored on almost every possession. Unfortunately, so did the Skins. Kwamie Lassiter intercepted Trent Green late in the game to preserve the win. We sat just behind family members of Cardinal players. Gedney's parent's couldn't have been nicer & Andre Wadsworth's parents sat directly in front of us. The 2001 game was originally supposed to be played on the Sunday after 9/11, but it was postponed & rescheduled. The weather was hideous & my son had a nasty cough that day,so we left in the 3rd qtr. We had a 10 pt lead at the half, but Plummer couldn't grip the ball & the Skins eventually won.
My greatest contribution to the Cardinals was to convince my son (Cardsfanmd) to become a Cardinal fan. He started as a Dolphins fan & then rooted for the Eagles because he loved McNabb (Our Syracuse Roots). I took him to every Cardinal-Redskin game for many years, but it was the 1996 game when Boomer threw for 523 yds that cemented it forever.

and for me, that's the best thing about being a cowboys fan. I don't think i hate other teams around the league like other fans hate the cowboys. The only team i can remember really hating was the montana-led 49ers. They were so good and my favorite team was the team that played the 49ers. The 89 season was the first year i watched football. the cowboys kind of sucked then so there wasn't much to see. Of corse montana also ended tom landry and the cowboys.

If i were a cards fan it would probably be that playoff victory over dallas in Irving. As a cowboys fan that was one of the most humiliating losses because it was to the cardinals. The 97 game in tempe was bound to happen eventually. but that playoff game had to be special for the cards and killer for dallas. As a hardcore fan, that was the moment i truly realized that the 90's success was over.

You can't call yourself a hardcore Cowboys fan and not hate the Redskins.

I still hate the Redskins and we're not even in the same division anymore.
