I am in Illinois and don't get into Arizona college sports. I remember seeing Grice's name on this board a couple of times but hadn't paid much attention. After the pre-season game against SD...I remember thinking, "Damn, I wish we had this kid over Taylor." Of course, we had Dwyer at the time and he was a good change of pace back.

It's all good... Grice is a terrific kid and had a very solid college career. Sadly though, there is not one thing about him that resembles Payton and even more sadly, Grice will be out of the NFL in 2-3 years.

I think he's a good receiver, but he runs upright which makes him go down so easily. If you read the scouting reports on him before the draft they all said the same thing, has to get stronger and learn to run lower between the tackles because he can't get any push running that high.

He's quicker than Taylor and shiftier, but he can't get yards after contact.

I think based on watching Arians for 2 years now he'll do what he always does, use strengths as setups for key plays. That is why we throw with Taylor in, and just when the defense is sure he's in to blitz pickup, he'll go out in the pattern and make a big catch. He'll do the same thing with Grice, run the ball when everyone assumes it's a pass etc. He likes to use guys as decoy and then spring it when he needs a big play. Does it with our TE's every week.

You mean the 2-3 average career of a NFL rb?
I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong if I have put to much faith in the kid.

This is the NFL. For Grice to get this far means a little something.

There are a handful of backs that can make something out of nothing. Charles , Peterson, and such. Then you have guys that can make a little something out of nothing. Lynch, Gore, Bell as an example. They will move the pile, find a hole and get 5 or 6 yds when other backs would have gotten 1 or 2 yds.

Just about any RB on an NFL roster can run the ball IF there is a hole. All I want from Taylor and Grice today is get positive yards, don't try to do too much and hold onto the ball.

I also think Taylor will get better with more carries not only today but going forward. Same thing can be said about Grice.

Look at some of the players that have stepped up. Okafor comes to mind. The more playing time he has gotten the better he has become. Grice and Taylor will start to gain a little confidence and get the feeling they belong. They will stop thinking and start playing.

I don't care what you are doing. If I hand you a hammer and 100 nails (assuming your not a carpenter lol) you will be a bit more proficient pounding those nails in at the end than your were with the first 10.

WE BELIEVE!
