Could you re-title this "Grimm news for the Cards"... it seems more appropriate.

So what this really means is to expect no improvement in the Oline for at least the next two years. We better carry 5 QBs on the roster as they go down one by one due to whiff blocks, poor blocking schemes, etc.

Time for the self-proclaimed experts to start picking on the "quality control" coach...;)

A couple of semi-OT thoughts...

1. I wouldn't read too much into the impact of the rehiring of Grimm.

On big picture matters (including, I'm guessing, something of the magnitude of overhauling of the offensive line) Cardinals' MO tends to be one of review, analysis and a lot of group collaberation leading to a concensus opinion. Although Russ figures to have considerable influence, I don't think his rehiring will interfere with a major OL overhaul if that's what the Cardinal brass collectively decides they want to do.

2. Reports out of NY are that Haley and the Jets couldn't get together on anything and that the possibility of his hooking up with Sparano over in Dallas were fading as well.

My guess is that any reluctance on Todd's part to rejoin the Cardinals may mostly have to do with the title (& pay grade) of "QB Coach" (a couple of flights down the old escalator from HC and OC).

Wow I think we gave up the most sacks in the league this last year (or damn close) and probably the year before that as well. I know the O-line looked a little better when Haley was here, I think he accounted for what the O-line could and couldn't accomplish on certain plays and was probably in Grimm's ear a lot.

Once again Grimm fails miserably at his job, yet the job offers rumors floated around again with no real interest, not with recent Cardinal game film being so easily obtainable. Haley coming in would be the only reason I could see Whiz being cool with this...but I'm just a self proclaimed sexpert so my thoughts probably aren't worth reading anyway. :p

St. Louis gave up the most in 2011, Chicago the most in 2010.

Arizona second worst both years.

I am a fan of Whiz. But, like most of us in life, he has his guys that he will stick with at all costs. Grimm is on of those guys for him. Grimm watching the Springstein halftime show in the biggest game in the last 50 years of team history will burn my a** forever. And ultimately, the line showing zero improvement will cost Whiz. He cannot see what everyone else can. That's too bad. The Cards should take Grimm's 1.5 Mill and give it to Haley and name him assistant head coach (if Haley will take it). Then find an OL position coach. Pretty simple.

It's interesting that the four NFC West teams were among the seven worst teams in sacks (4 of 7). Coincidence? I don't think so. Maybe it has something to do with playing against 7 of the top 10 teams in the league in defensive sacks...

I still would like to know why the Cards have 4 of the 5 offensive line starters still on the roster that started vs Green Bay in the playoffs, 531 yards of offense and only 1 sack, yet only one of them is playing the same position.

Money? Levi made too much to stay at RT?
Weight? Lutui just got too big to play?
Scheme? What CKW and staff wanted the line to do changed and needed different personnel to do it?
Illusion? Bridges wasn't really much better at LT than RT as it seemed to me in watching the games?

the springstein thing is funny but who cares? I doubt there is much position coaching going on in the locker room at half time.

Funny? He should have been fired on the spot. Here he is, in the most important game of his coaching career, his team is losing at halftime, and instead of focusing on in game adjustments and prepping the line for the 2nd half, he's out there listening to an over the hill band? It's literally the most outrageous coaching move I've ever heard.

Grimm must have naked pics of Whiz and Michael Bidwill, because he's been an abject failure since he's been here.

Well, he could pick up naked shower pics of Whiz almost any day... so it must be something else. Maybe, Whiz who knows a few things about coaching believes he's the best man for the job. Disappointing for you, I'm sure, but maybe that's the answer.

That's a highly troubling answer, though. Our line has been atrocious. Our blocking schemes have been ridiculously bad (seriously, who has ever heard of a scheme that leaves a DE free in a FOUR MAN RUSH??? Yet it happens with us repeatedly, and we are told it was the 'blocking scheme'). I'm hoping that KW isn't still just blindly loyal to his coaching friends, but that is exactly what this looks like.

Sorry. Not troubling to me. There are more things involved than coaching techniques and blocking schemes for successful plays on game day.

whiz ass is on the line not grimm so it is what it is.

Beyond that, we havent drafted OL in like 3 years. I dont put it ALL on Grimm.

The gameplan is built all week, im not sure the OL coach gets to say much @ halftime.
