It wasn’t a simple pass. The guy has problems but there is no reason to make stuff up to fit the narrative he’s already fitting.

yeah, I saw the play differently. So did Ouchie. Not sure why you feel the need to accuse us of making stuff up because we disagreed with you. But you do you.

That’s why I hate that stupid deep three “2-for-1” - we NEVER hit the first stupid rushed shot and then end up with minimal time to try the last shot. It’s essentially trading one good possession for two crappy ones.

Bonks off Ayton’s face. Makes a great block. And GREAT block. And then can’t catch a simple pass. His hands are just . . . I just can’t come up with worse adjectives anymore

that’s a horrible pass and EJ even pointed that out. Why would you even throw it to your center running full speed down court at the 3 point line when he’s not even looking at the ball

It's not so much the idea but Booker's shot selection.

It’s always a bad first shot. For what? To get a final shot with 6-8 seconds usually. It’s literally throwing away a good possession to try to get one bad possession.

Booker hoisting extra long threes is not a smart idea to get a two for one. Suns can get a better shot than that.

Went back and rewatched it. It’s at the 3:50 mark of the second quarter. Observations:

1. Ayton is not running close to full speed.

2. Ayton is looking directly at Payne when Payne passes the ball.

3. it literally hits Ayton in both hands, that are up to catch the pass.

it’s awful.

go back and watch it and tell me I’m wrong.

You’re wrong, the pass was strong because it wasn’t even meant for Ayton.

Yeah Booker is particularly bad at this but I tend to agree that most teams should focus on getting a good shot rather than worrying about a two for one (until end of game situations).

Exactly. How does that constitute a simple pass?

I never said it was a simple pass, but you’re acting like he doesn’t have arms or hands which he could actually raise to catch it. If you’re crashing towards the hoop on a delayed break and no one has picked you up, At least have the awareness... screw it. I’m just making things up because I’m an cornholio or something.

carry on.

He could have at least made a move to get closer to the basket. He’s not Dame Lillard.

Jesus. Settle down. This is why it’s hard to have a conversation with you. We disagree on a pass, big deal.

I just rewatched this as well and you are LITERALLY making this up. If the pass wasn’t for Ayton, who was it for?
