CLEVELAND — The Guardians (13-9) host the New York Yankees (14-9) on Tuesday, April 22, at Progressive Field in a rematch of last season’s American League Championship Series.
The Yankees are atop the AL East Division standings by a 1.5 games over the Red Sox and the Guardians are a half game behind the Detroit Tigers (14-9) in the AL Central Division.
Guardians moves: Cleveland places Lane Thomas on injured list; Trevor Stephan extended to 60-day IL

The Cleveland Guardians have placed outfielder Lane Thomas (right wrist bone bruise) on the injured list retroactive to April 20.
They've also transferred right-handed pitcher Trevor Stephan (elbow) to the 60-day injured list and selected the contract of Will Wilson from Triple-A Columbus. Stephan underwent Tommy John surgery on March 28, 2024, to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.
Right-hander Tanner Bibee (1-2, 5.85 ERA, 15 strikeouts) is scheduled to start on the mound for the Guardians and right-hander Will Warren (1-0, 5.17, 16 strikeouts) is set to get the ball for the Yankees.

Monday's game can be viewed locally on AT&T U-verse (channel 1736), COX (channel 80), DIRECTV Satellite and Streaming (channel 662), FuboTV and Spectrum (channel 1306). It can also be streamed via MLB's direct-to-consumer streaming subscription (CLEGuardians.TV) for $99.99 a season or $19.99 a month. And it'll be available on the radio via WTAM 1100, WMMS 100.7 and WARF 1350.
Gavin Williams allowed two runs over 6⅓ innings to pick up the win for Cleveland. José Ramírez and Kyle Manzardo hit consecutive home runs and the Guardians won for the 10th time in 13 games.
