Well, since it's clearly my turn:

I got it, I got it, I got it....I ain't got it.

Correct. One of my top 5 Disney movies.

Mine too!

LOL, the first script I ever wrote was a dramatic (and gory) action-packed Pirate movie. But I finished it when Cutthroat Island came out (which bombed), so I never did any edits to it, just stuck it in a drawer where it remains to this day. I had some hope when the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie came out, but it had those supernatural elements that I didn't like. My script had nothing like that. There hasn't been a good true "pirate" movie in decades.

Do you think you could get play out of it now, then? I agree there hasn't been a real "pirate" pirate movie in a long time. I liked the first and second PotC movies, supernatural elements and all, but a good back to the basics pirate movie would be nice.

In case it was lost in the shuffle, we do have a quote in play. Here's a small hint, the character that says this is probably best known for his role in a popular sitcom that ran for 8 seasons and ended in 82. He joined the show with a little role in the classic two part "Quarantine" episode in season 3 and eventually became a regular in the series.

"I got it, I got it, I got it....I ain't got it."

I'm pretty sure your quote has to be from a Mel Brooks movie but I don't know which one.

Doubt it without major editing. It's got a lot of characters, one of which doesn't even meet up with anyone else in the movie. Funny thing is, I saw some vague structural similarities between it and the movie "The Big Short". Christian Bale never has any interaction other than a phone call with any of the other characters. (If I remember correctly)

It is definitely a back to basics pirate movie, and it's pretty brutal.

Think Hitchcock. And then think Brooks.

Well, since Psycho, The Birds, Vertigo etc all gave me the creeps, I'd half to guess High Anxiety?? even though I can't remember ever watching it.

Or... Maybe History of the World??

Yeah, the line is delivered by Ron Carey (Officer Levitt on Barney Miller) as he tries to load Mel's luggage into the trunk. So, you're up.

On a side note, while waiting for MrYeahbut, when Young Franenstein was in theaters, the band Aerosmith was working on its third studio album, Toys in the Attic, the members of the band had written the music for a song but couldn't come up with any lyrics to go with it. After a while, they decided to take a break and see a late night showing of Young Frankenstein, where the gag inspired them to write the hit "Walk This Way".

It's a more of an obscure film, but I loved it

I remember this one. I had a mad crush on Bisset, every since she appeared wearing this is "The Deep".

I don't even remember hearing of this movie. But, I may well have tuned it out intentionally. I still have some scars from seeing "Days of Wine and Roses" when I was 8 years old. I don't know why my grandfather thought it would be a good film for a little kid. Perhaps it was the draw of Jack Lemmon or Blake Edwards but whatever the reason, I swore I'd never watch another film about an alcoholic.

My dad was supposed to be in this movie. He was a diving instructor in So Cal and was cast to be a bad guy in an underwater attack scene. Then they changed directors, and that was that.

Yeah, well, you probably don't want to see it then. It played a part in my own recovery from alcoholism. I had a group
of friends that casually suggested this movie so we went to see it together. Little did I know they had purposely planned it
behind my back. We went to get a drink afterwards and started discussing the film. I made a comment something
like, man that dude was a serious alcoholic... they all turned and looked at me and basically said... this is what you're like.
Maybe you should have a look in the mirror.
I read once that the character (played by Albert Finney) was actually described as having dipsomania... which is more of
an insane obsession with alcohol... not a pretty sight... there is humor in the film however.

The pic below is from an opening scene, which should give you some of idea of the grimness to follow.

Personal history that is probably TMI, but I thought I'd just let it out...

Thanks for sharing that MrYeahbut.

Here it goes: OK, so we got a trooper pulls someone over, we got a shooting, these folks drive by, there's a high-speed pursuit, ends here and then this execution-type deal.

I had a reasonable guess too so I googled it. Turns out it wasn't Catch-22. Since it's all the honor system, why not just put your question inside the spoiler bracket?
