I don't even remember hearing of this movie. But, I may well have tuned it out intentionally. I still have some scars from seeing "Days of Wine and Roses" when I was 8 years old. I don't know why my grandfather thought it would be a good film for a little kid. Perhaps it was the draw of Jack Lemmon or Blake Edwards but whatever the reason, I swore I'd never watch another film about an alcoholic.

My parents were movie buffs. Going to the movies was cheap so we saw at least one double feature a week and looking back on it we saw a lot of adult-themed movies. They took us along to see everything they saw. The only scars I have is from seeing "Old Yeller" at a kiddie matinee sponsored by Walt Disney.

Oh shoot... I have a reasonable guess for this one but I can't play the game since I can't pose a question...

Clue for current quote...

When you're drugged, you slobber and eat spiders.

Ok, this last quote was from 12 Monkeys. No one answered it so I'll post a new one that should be easier.

2 Quotes from movie:

Your average Ruskie doesn't take a dump without a plan.

Gentleman, you can't fight in here! This is the war room!

I started to say War Games for some reason but then I read the second quote. I'm drawing a blank on the complete title (I'm better at movie lines than titles I guess) but it's the How I learned to stop worrying and love the Bomb movie.

I knew it would come to me as soon as I posted without it, the part I couldn't remember was: Dr Strangelove.

Next quote:

"Well, ya see, I'm not saying that I've been everywhere and I've done everything but I do know it's a pretty amazing planet we live on here. And a man would have to be some kind of fool to think we're alone in this universe."

No but here's a hint, this guy isn't in the movie but read the quote aloud as if you were an iconic, truly larger-than-life American actor that passed away in the late 70's.

My guess for that would be John Wayne, but the quote hasn't come to me yet.

I had a reasonable guess too so I googled it. Turns out it wasn't Catch-22. Since it's all the honor system, why not just put your question inside the spoiler bracket?

Good idea but I'm ignorant of spoiler bracket use. Maybe I'll give a hint to the movie I'm thinking of... Jack Nickelson was in it.

oh, its been answered... I was thinking One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest... I could just hear Jack Nicholson saying it...

Yeah, when I read it I thought of Catch-22 and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

"The way most people go about it, they use more brains picking a horse in the third at Belmont than they do picking a husband...It's your head you've got to use, not your heart."
From a 1953 film. Monroe, Grable and Bacall.

The easiest way to learn how to do a Spoiler is to just quote someone's post that includes a spoiler and look at the format used. It's done the same as quotes. You can quote this post for an easy view (easy, IMO, YMMV).

You just enter the word spoiler inside the lower case brackets and then add your text, closing off with /spoiler inside brackets to end it.

Thanks Steve... I was looking for an icon that did it.

I don't recall the quote and I don't even recall that trio in a movie. Monroe and Grable appeared together in one called Truckstop... close as I can get.

the only downside is on my computer it always wants to put it on the top of the post.

when you are writing your post...on the top bar between the camera and the film strip is a "+" sign....click on that and "Spoiler" is one of your options... like so:
