Here's how I do it.... some more techno person can prolly give you an easier way...

Locate PrtScr on the top of your keyboard... usually next to F12 key... have page you want on the screen and press PrtScr

Click Start button (bottom left that is to shut down computer) Click All Programs, Open program 'Paint' which is in Accessories folder in All Programs

Upper left,, Click 'Paste' in Paint program, it will put your screenshot on the page.... in upper left there's a little arrow for drop down menu, click 'save as' and put it in whatever folder you want and name it whatever you want.

Then in your post, click 'Up load a file', go to where you saved it and you're all good.

As I said, thanks for trying but no go. I have no idea where the print screen is on my Mac.

It's still beyond me but thanks for trying.

1. Scratch image on cave wall
2. Send smoke signal when complete
3. Participants will send answers via carrier pigeon
4. Correct answer will be notified by lunar eclipse

I've been up for 3 days straight but this set of instructions resonates with me. Can I use Semaphore instead though? Failing that, I have a fairly steady hand with Morse and can probably still key at least 20 words per minute. But I'd need someone out there capable of taking Morse and none of you look all that capable (a couple of you look downright shifty to be honest). So I'm back to square one, all because I no longer smoke and can't send my signals. I'll still wait for the lunar eclipse but I'll be running silent until then.

Well, it's not really an emergency if you got nuttin'. You should have just sent some v's (...-, ...-, ...-).

BTW, if anyone wants to take the next turn, I slipped the name of the movie into my previous post. I used a very clever cryptographic technique, I reversed the word order.

Simpler is to find a screencap already online, save it as you would any other image, and then upload it in your post.
Exactly.

1) Go to Google and search for a movie, for example, "Fight Club screenshot"
2) Make sure you are on the images page for Google search, which will give you a checkerboard of images. Select one and you'll see information expand.
3) You'll see a button for "View image", just click that.
4) Most of the time, the image will open up in a new tab by itself. Just copy the URL of that image.
5) Then back here in ASFN, click the picture symbol next to the smiley when posting, and paste the URL, hit ok, and voila!

I've used the URL method for re-posting pics that I've posted before. On the old site software, there was a link under your
personal profile for attachments... you just went and found the pic, copy URL etc... I can't find the link for previous attachments..
Any idea where it is?

No.. Upload a file option doesn't give access to pics you have posted previously. Say I don't have the pic on my computer anymore but I want to post it again..

I guess I'm not making myself clear or explaining it correctly. I'll try again..

On the old site, you uploaded a pic and posted it, same as now. ... If you wanted to post it again in another thread.. Say even a year later, when you try to upload it again you would get an error message that would tell you that you've already uploaded it and it wouldn't let you do it....

So I finally stumbled on a 'button' in my profile that said 'attachments'.. Much like the button you would use if you wanted to change your preferences. That button took you to a list of all attachments you have posted from day 1. You just had to find your pic in the list, click it, copy the URL and you could post it with no error. I can't find this list in my profile or anywhere.

It's not that I wanted something specific to post in this thread, I was just curious so I went looking for the attachment list when checking out the new site software...

Thread hijack... Sorry

Really? I thought this was an easy one. Classic eighties film. Full of hilarious scenes and quotes.

Dialogue for the above scene:

Grandma Helen: Oh Sam, let me look at you. Fred, she's gotten her boobies.
Grandpa Fred: [chuckles] I better go get my magnifying glass.
Grandma Helen: Oh, and they are so Perky.
Grandma Helen: [reaches to cup them]
