That is great, hope Reddick crushes it. This defense really needs strong ILB play to go from good to great. Plus we haven't drafted a star in the first round since Peterson - be nice to break that streak.

Reddick seems to be the same kind of guy as DJ - very humble, has always worked his butt off, takes his craft very seriously. And the same abundant levels of raw talent. Man, if he can turn out to be as much of a gem as DJ has proven to be - what a pick.

Who started this thread? Brian Billick? It's Haason Reddick, not Hassan Reddick...lol I sure hope Michael Bidwill doesn't fill out his checks incorrectly...might not be able to cash them.

He's never gonna be a great player if we can't spell his name correctly...hahahahaha

So far, not seeing the ILB instincts vs the run with Reddick. I realize he hasn't played their before but huge risk in converting that type of player. I hope I am wrong.

Over pursuing a little, that's ok for now, 3 games left to correct it

Reddick has been meh at best. I find it funny that they talk about him covering DJ because he is supposed to be able to do that as his athleticism is one of the reasons they drafted him. I hope we don't have to count on him as a starter this year. He will struggle like he has struggled in games so far. The instincts aren't there, and neither is the experience. This is who we drafted and if it works out, it will probably be next year when we see the jump.

I have said this from day one and I still believe it: Haason Reddick belongs on the edge at ROLB. Slide Chandler Jones down to RDE and this defense becomes even faster and more dynamic.

He looks nothing like DWash. DWash popped out of the screen in his first preseason games. His instincts at diagnosing a play were off the charts. Reddick? Not so much, and that's concerning.

Fake news. Washington was never an instinctive player. He was FAST, and so when you told him where to go, he'd fire the gun better than anyone. That's one reason why he was such a good blitzed on those designed A-gap blitzes, but also why he never called the defensive plays.

Reddick still has time, but hoping for a guy to make an NFL transition at such an instinctive position is a pretty risky move that didn't quite payoff for Deone Bucannon, who at least was seeing the field from the middle of the defense.

I know he's a first round pick, but I'm not expecting him to do much this season.

Next season is where I think he'll take off.

A 265lb D-end in a 3-4 gets run over and Jones is not particularly good against the run. Move him inside and you negate his strength and true value to this "D". IMO

Reddick will be a situational pass rusher/cover LB if he doesn't make the transition to ILB. The Cards are betting big that he can make the transition but if not, this was a wasted #1 pick. There were better ILB (Foster) and OLB (Watt) options out there. Not to mention we could have had a CB or potential QBOF.

The bet for ILB is basically All or Nothing! Hope he makes it.
