Multi-year deal per PFTalk. Great two depth signings for the o-line in Bridges T/G and Hadnot C/G.

Hadnot lands with the Cards

Hadnot lands with the Cardinals

Posted by Mike Florio on March 11, 2010 9:11 PM ET
After visiting several teams, free agent guard Rex Hadnot has gotten a new home.

Per a league source, Hadnot has agreed to terms with the Cardinals.

It's a multi-year deal. No further details are currently available, but we're working on it.

Love the signing...

I know this probly means nothing but I popped in Madden 09 yesterday and he was rated a 90 (suprising huh?) and another thing Foote was rated higher than Dansby by 1 point 86 to 85...I know its just a video game but still found it interesting.

HADNOT: In the Scouts rating he is over 70 (good starter)

Someone (Wells? Sendlein?) is in for some competition.

He was #4 in Scouts Inc's top 5 hidden gems in FA.

He isn't real pretty and is only a slightly above-average pass-blocker, but Hadnot is a masher in the run game. He still has a lot of football left in him and can play every position on the interior of the line. Hadnot is a wide body who would have a starting spot with just about every team in this league, but his reputation might not be as substantial as his play shows on tape. Hadnot might end up being a terrific value.

The power running game continues to form. Nice job, FO.

I really did not like Wells last year to be quite honest. Hopefully, Hadnot is better. :D

It doesn't take form by him sitting on the bench. Domebodys gonna be sitting IMO.

The guy can play any interior spot on he oline. He has been a starter every year he has been in the league since he was drafted in 2004.

Wells, Lutui, and Lyle are all on one year deals, this may be the smartest move we have made yet because of that fact. Highly doubtful all three of those get re-signed. Finally its great competition for Wells, Lyle and Lutui to all stay on their toes. 3 years 9 mill well worth the money IMO. Personally I think its a move that directly reflects the coaches disappointment in Wells last year, especially in the run game.

Wow. I LOVE what we have done so far. Lets lock up Porter and Foote to reasonable deals, bring in Anderson and head into the draft.

Between locking up Wiz, getting Kerry Rhodes, and the type of moves we have made so far in FA (assuming we get 1 of Porter and Foote AT LEAST) we are on our way to one of the better offseason in years.

3 million per sounds like a lot for a bench guy?

Allows for versatility and saves a game day position.

Hadnot ($3M) can play all three interior roles, and conceivably beat out Wells ($2.3M) at guard.

If he does, we have Wells to cover the two guard positions, and can slip into his old role if, for example, Sendlein got hurt and Hadnot was moved into that position.

Additionally, we have Bridges as both a tackle and guard backup.

The "SNAIL" STRIKES AGAIN!!!!

For all the talk about the speed at which Graves moves, the past week has been a blur. Rhodes acquired, Q jettisoned, Hadnot & Bridges now on-board, and Porter & Foote directly in our sights! All I can say is...WOW!!! BEWARE THE POWER OF THE SNAIL!!! :D I wonder if Rod Graves has been hanging around John Lott and hitting the weight room! :) I'm luv'in the front-office action!

I'll allow you to give some credit to Graves, but FA's are interested in AZ only because of 1 man - Kenneth Whisenhunt. Without Whiz, this franchise would still be wandering in the desert.

It doesn't mean much for 2010, I don't think, but Reggie Wells might want to get a real estate agent to put his house on the market.

Who the heck do you think hired Whiz? Come on. Who do you think had a part in drafting Boldin, Fitz, Dansby, Dockett, and Wilson? Give the guy credit. He's made mistakes, but he is also not some doof like you guys routinely make him out to be.

Yessir, it's doubtful the Cards jettison Wells this year since Billy Boy still avoids cutting players that have some value left.

I wonder if Wells could slide out to tackle, it's always seemed like he would be a much more natural fit as LT since he has good feet but struggles against huge bullrushers. Depth on the Oline is the best I've seen since I became a Cards fan, though we still could use another developmental type player/future starter at tackle.

Lots of money for a backup, something definitely cooking with Wells

Though I haven't seen enough to agree or disagree, I think the organization believes they have that in both Johnson and Keith.
