Some Steeler fan posted in PFT, "Haley to AZ as HC, Whisenhunt to Pittsburgh as OC." :D

:championship: Pittsburgh

The Steelers would probably somehow end up with our first round draft pick, too.

Funny thing is I remember seeing that same line last week when there were rumors about Reid coming to the Cards.

I dont think the owner of the eagles or any of their assistants were coming out and saying things like whats happening today, its crazy.

Haven't seen anything like this since the Peyton Manning frenzy.

Has anyone checked the length of Jerome Stanley's nose recently? :D

For those doubting Haley is in legitimate consideration if not the new FRONTRUNNER, remember Jerome Stanley is not only Todd Haley's agent, he is also Steve Keim's agent.. These relationships go a LONG ways in these situations..

I believe (though as are most of us I am not happy about it), Todd Haley will be the coach of the 2013 Cardinals...

man... if we do get Haley, I REALLY hope he's like a Bellicheck, who needed one HC job to fail at before he succeeded, but I won't lie and say I'm not dubious of that happening.

I think that you are right, so does Gambo listening to him on the radio. He said if Haley is in town he will be hired.

So technically there could be "no interview" because he's already been offered the job?

you and me both.. I am trying to keep an open mind and look at the silver lining.. He did lead a KC team to the playoffs.. He understands offensive football and if Horton stays and Haley says heres the deal, I will control offense and ST you are entirely in charge of the defense, I think this could work out...

I am just spinning it though, because I think he will be Coach Haley in a few days..

He's probably learned a thing or two along the way. I would hope. Be a little less Mr. Woodcock and more Horton. Treat the players like adults and not have sideline tirades.

Players will be held accountable, BUT not to the rediculous where they can't redeem themselves in a certain game.

Other Question is, where does Mr. Horton go if said gets hired?

I agree except I think dubious is an understatement.

To be fair, Coughlin was an ass before he admittedly started loosening up before the 2007 season (SB). I've heard from a few places that Haley has learned from his first experience as an HC and may have mellowed out. Not saying it has or will happen, but I believe in second chances. And if he has learned his lesson, we'd be getting a damn good coach.

That's right.

When KC was courting Haley I recall a radio interview where even his Dad thought the possibility existed that Todd wasn't ready to be a head coach.

This list of coaches (and players for that matter) that made great strides from opportunity ONE to opportunity TWO is long. Didn't Belicheck fail his first go round?

Just because some KC players thought him a jerk doesn't mean that's who he actually is. And even if he is, so what. I'll take Kurt Warner's word on the man, and what I ACTUALLY saw when he was here as OC more than I will what a couple of players on a pathetically bad team have to say. A team that continued to stink up the place long after he was gone. And don't even get me started on what Big Ben thinks of the man. Don't put stock in anything that comes out of his mouth.

Kurt Warner had a passion to win unlike anything seen in Cardinal Land ever!
Ray Horton - Ditto!
Todd Haley - Ditto!

Honestly, if the Cardinals were going to hire Horton, it would have already happened. Once Keim was hired yesterday, if Horton were the guy, he would have been announced today. I think the Cardinals really like McCoy, but they don't have the patience nor balls to wait things out. It's no secret that almost every team in the HC hunt likes McCoy, so the Cardinals inferiority complex will make them move sooner rather than later.

I don't have a problem with Haley. I'm sure he's learned something from the first go around. I like a HC who's not afraid to get in people's faces. This franchise needs that now more than ever. Our mamby pamby players need thicker skin. Players with thick skin don't get beat 58-0! He's been to a SB & took a crappy KC team to the playoffs, regardless of their schedule. I'd rather have Haley as HC, with Horton as DC than Horton as HC with relative unknowns as our Coordinators. Absolutely, Haley!

I thought Bob Lamonte was Keim's agent?

I think Haley will have learned a few things after the first go round.

He'll hopefully have a little more balance in his approach, but still expect the most.

If they could keep Horton at a substantial raise I'm down.

I was really hoping for what I'd consider an upgrade or up and comer at HC, still am. All them cats said said Haley was a bigger part of our superbowl run than Whiz was should be dancing in the streets.

I was hoping for some McCoy buzz today, I thought we may look like a cozy spot for him considering our defense is already locked down dialed in, and McCoy still has to focus on his postseason.

But back to Haley, or todayley, because we are still interviewing Gruden tomorrow yes? I hoped it was a leverage move if I think Haley thought the same thing and didn't want to show up unless there was a real chance at HC. But with the hiring and timing of this Keim thing, it leads me to believe Keim may be very pro-Haley. And I think Haley would be a OK with Horton remaining as DC, and maybe that sideways title called assistant HC.

I really don't know if Haley will succeed. I frankly did not follow his time in KC all that closely. I have read the posts here about his time there and obviously remember his tiff with Anquan.

All I really know is that Haley was the OC for a prolific offense when he was here last. Of course he could be a colossal failure but if he was hired tomorrow I for one would not lose a lick of sleep over it as long as he is given a short leash.

I think Ray deserves a shot, but there might be some sort of flaw in his plan that we have not heard of.

People deserve second chances for sure, but the timing is a bit dubious. I really would prefer Horton based on his familiarity with this current roster, but his background in defense and lack of HC experience lends itself to real question as to whether or not he can get it done offensively.

ESPN crawl at 4:45pm ET - "Cards to Interview Haley." UPDATE - Urban quotes Rooney as confirming the report.

Anquan had it out with Haley in the heat of battle, but when all was said and done Q's beef really was with Wiz, not Haley.

Only a good hire if he assembles a formidable offensive coaching staff and keeps Horton to run defense on his own accord.
