I wonder if the Cards will be allowed to interview other teams assisstants. I know it's changed recently but it used to be where teams wouldn't block a guy from moving to a better job.

Blocking a position coach from having a chance to move to a coordinator position would probably cause a little animosity toward the organization. I know they can block but it would be in poor form to block anyone.

i've heard two things.One, they interviewed Leslie Frazier. Two, that minority candidates declined to be interviewed because they knew it was foregone conclusion that Haley was going to get it. I don't know if that would consitute satisfying the Ronney rule,or not. I guess you can't make someone interview.

The key with Shanahan is not giving him too much power - thats what happened in Denver. He is good at developing RBs and QBs as well.

That being said, he probably won't want to go back to being an OC, but then again who knows. No one would have figured martz would do it either.

best move he made in giving it over to TH i thought. took balls and was a big step towards us moving forward so cant see him wanting it back.

This also mean Clancy is going nowhere (not that i thought he would tbh)..no way we lose OC and DC the years after going to the Super Bowl.

Shanahan runs a zone blocking offense first of all, and Whiz wants a power running game.

2nd, Shanahan's passing game is based off of the bootleg, and I don't think Warner or Leinart is going to pick up the nickname "crazy legs" anytime soon.

He is a good coach, just not a good fit.

Personally I think without Elway Shanahan is lost.

Losing Haley sucks big time, but since Whiz is an offensive minded coach I think we will be OK.

What is interesting is that Haley, and Boldin look to be leaving. I think Warner just might pack it in as well. Power running here we come........

This sucks!! I felt that if Haley stayed that made Warners decision to stay much more likely. And then watching Boldin yesterday say that for him to come back Warner has to be here. This could have a pretty big ripple effect.

We are overlooking that we already have one of Pro Football's most creative and aggressive minds when it comes to offensive play calling - His name is:

Ken Whisenhunt.

It wasn't easy for Wiz to turn over play calling duties to Haley in the first place. If he wants to, he can re-take responsibility for offensive play calling and opt to being in a bright, less experienced young assistant he can groom.

Or - if someone more experienced he likes is still out there, he could go in that direction instead.

Someone should ask him whether he'd be comfortable calling the plays again or whether he feels that, as head coach, he'd rather continue delegating that responsibility.

My point is that, because Wiz is very good at X's and O's in his own right, he has the luxury of going in any one of several directions.

Sidenote: I don't think we will need a new DC this year. But Gruden is Tampa Two, so he is not a fit. Romeo Crennel would be a great pick up tho. That is a man that may not know how to be a HC, but can run a 3-4 defensive as good as anyone.
